You might get your chance to buy one yet, have you seen the RHC sets that Hattons are soon to Beleaguer our wallets with?

I have to admit that, having not the slightest real reason to buy a set, I found myself working out how it might be possible to fill one of the water tanks with cleaner fluid and fit a weighted slab for fitting corduroy cleaning pads too!!

What are the hoses for Dave?

To be serious, I can only think, they maybe for topping up fresh water tanks for toilet facilities on board trains'.

Well, the brass trusses turned up Saturday post.

Nice to see your mojo firing on all cylinders dt

Dover is getting truly Cinemascope in its scale and contrasts

Like the BIG sound

Wasn't there some Hollywood Big Screen system actually called TODDAO ?

dh

ToddAO  was a very wide, wrap-around screen, which was supposed to "imerse" the audience in the scenes.  I remember they really hyped up about it, but never got to see one.  I'm not sure if there were any in the UK.  [London maybe??]

Kind regards

Julian

The Drake Cinema in Plymouth definitely had ToddAO and possibly another cinema in Cardiff

Super modelling, especially like the cliffs. I have great plans to make something similar with Dover Marine station running round to Dover Town Yard but life is too short and don't suppose I am going to get very far with it. Have moved to a rented house in Blackpool and spent months building shelving into the garage and installing lighting and power. The shelving is heavy duty and looks like the Bridge on the River Kwai. I am getting disenchanted with the whole thing and am thinking of wiring some explosive to a plunger outside and blowing the whole thing up as the first train rolls onto the bridge!

The first film shown in the UK was 'South Pacific', released by 20th. Century Fox in 1958. There were Cinemas converted to show the film, Certainly Manchester, Birminghame, London, Cardiff etc. TOD-AO was created by Mike Todd, together with American Opticle. There were a number of releases, including the 'Sound of Music' mosy were shown in London at the 'Dominion' Totenham Court Road - Sound fo Music ran there foe 6 Years. TOD-AO was a 70 mm film, as apposed to the traditianal releases which were 35 mm stock. The Ratio of a 70 mm Screen was 1 - 2.2, meaning for every fot high the width would be 2.2 foot wide.

Hope this helps! Good luck David (Hope you can release your production in a cinema near you (It would today be an IMAX screen)

Peter

https://flic.kr/p/PaeDmAActually,October is not far off ! Thank you for your patience.

I thank you for you previous post's since March, especially the Tod connection.

Most of the day's,since early this year have been taken up with local voluntary organisations or in my "new" allotment, when most's day's were over 30 degrees.

Far too hot to do any kind of modelling on a Wednesday night,or any other, come to that.

Loftysr, has been rather unwell for a number of months, so last Wed and six weeks previous, are the only two attempt's to model anything.

Which culminates into these few photo's, for you all to look at.

Yeah!!  Network Rail back on DP job again!!  Go dt, go!!

Seriously, very sad to hear Loftysr is experiencing problems.  Please pass my best wishes for a rapid return.

In the meanwhile, get those workers out with the defoliant on that Ballast.  You may allow yourself a mug of well brewed tea to assist the process.

Regards

Julian
