If you want to go hardcore it’s Mushy Peas and warm Pork Pie! has to be a really good Pork Pie though

Oh, how I miss a decent growler. The ones from Drake's in Armley were the best (long gone, I fear).

To me a growler is another name for a c37!…..needless to say when I introduced Keith Carter to the Growler Group there was a major outbreak of laughter.

PS John, what’s your Growler?…did I just say that!

In the West Riding, at least, it's a pork pie!

A little building completed today. This is an electricity sub station that blocks off the road….I’ve forgotten it’s name… that runs past Franks Cafe and parallels the railway line at the south end of the station.

Card frame, plasticard outer and roof.

That 47 hauled service around the 8 minute mark would lead to some remarks if you ran in model form, 9 coaches, 3 of which are brake vehicles.

Quick scour the bargain bins for all those unsold brakes.....

I am wondering if it was a train of two portions and combined somewhere south of KO.

Is it the video quality or are all the coaches in that rake also first class? They seem to have a yellow stripe on all coaches except over the brake sections.

Yes does look like yellow stripe but no 1s on the doors. A scratch set.

Standard formation was BSO TSO TSO TSO TSO TSO RLF.

A long postponed trip to Norfolk went ahead last week as my B.I.L. and I finally got our driver experience in on the NNR.

Great time had by all.

Last night was the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Brighton MRC. A small celebration was held to mark the event. Some old newspaper cuttings were also on show…….possibly the only photo of Springfield Parkway.

Yes, I should have noted the date of the cutting. …grown up with his own family now of course.

Nothing done on the layout for a while although I should get a bit of building completed Saturday at the NGS meeting.

Finally got one of those roundtoit jobs done…..mounting this fingerboard from Clapham Junction. This is a rare one as it’s 1M34 the 0625 Newhaven Marine to Manchester Piccadilly only ran Mon to Sat for the 1986/7 timetable.

A very pleasant day at the Yorkshire NGS meeting yesterday. As a result I’ve made a start on another building which is next to the Olympia car park. The car park building was started some time ago but I hadn’t progressed it.  I didn’t get much done to it only a couple of bits of strengthening as I left the window grids at home and couldn’t cut the apertures as a result.

After some advice I’ve made a start on fitting the dolls to the first of three signal gantries in the station area.

I’ve got the arms fitted to the posts which will be cut down in height as per the photo.
