brianthesnail96
Not completely on topic I know, but do you know if there will there be examples of the new wagons on display Brian?Much as I'd like a 60, a short rake of tankers is a rather more realistic aim! two tone green
Impressive. It mentions a new drive system. Any info Brian?
steve fay
Central mounted Andy, so you can see through the grills. I think they should adopt this method for all future locos.
two tone green
Hi Steve. I saw the photo with one end being shown and the new drive set up. But the motor had only one output shaft from what I could see. So if you say centrally mounted, is there only one motor and one power bogie.
steve fay
I got the impression it was central mounted motor with drives to both bogies, Just a blow up of the 4mm version

brian daniels
It's got 2 standard Heljan motors. This arrangement leaves the centre space between the motors available for your PCB or DCC chip. You will have to wait until Sunday evening or maybe Monday morning when i will put up some more pictures showing the insides.

brian daniels
Not keen on the windscreens - the real things aren't square, or flat Jon Bit of luck the model ones aren't square either as they are 5mm difference in width to height. Oh and they do have a V shape to them!

RMweb Premium newbryford Posted January 24, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 24, 2014 Not keen on the windscreens - the real things aren't square, or flat Jon The windows (the glass bits at least) are flat. I think you mean that they aren't flat together in the same plane - they are slightly angled to each other Cheers, Mick
Grimleygrid
Oh yes very nice indeed.....can't wait to see the photos of your one painted in Construction sector livery Brian. I think you mean that they aren't flat together in the same plane - they are slightly angled to each other Cheers, Mick aha! Yes , someone understood what I meant And that angle would also in turn be visible on the panels that meet and form the leading edge of the cab roof below the air horns: http://www.flickr.com/photos/brianews/5864013528/in/set-72157626905606161 On an unpainted bare shell I'd have thought it would be clearly visible? Hope I'm wrong though? Jon
two tone green
I think the windows are angled. Look at the photo of the side profile and look through the side cab window. You can see the opposite side windscreen. If they had been flat then you would not have seen the the view you can. But tomorrow will tell all as its in the flesh at the Bristol show hopefully. brian daniels
Well as my bags are packed for Bristol tomorrow and as usual there's not a lot on the box tonight I might as well put these up now. It's one heck of a long model but thankfully not too heavy. Remember this is a pre-production model and some details will change. One thing that must be got right is that it came with the grills glued to the outside of the openings. Unfortunately it's designed to have them behind the body openings. I managed to sort them out but I have now got to remove some glue before I paint it. Pictures showing the horizontal motors and the space for the PCB in-between them. There are a set of screw holes as well to take an ESU Loksound chip either side of the PCB. At No2 End under the removable exhaust silencer are a set of slide switches to set up any light configuration you want. There are no instrument lights on this model as the real ones are very dim! There is a light in the radiator compartment to illuminate the equipment in there as per prototype.
