Heljan class 60

Not completely on topic I know, but do you know if there will there be examples of the new wagons on display Brian?

Much as I'd like a 60, a short rake of tankers is a rather more realistic aim!

The pre-production samples of the VAA and OAA and the Esso B Tank that I painted will be on Tower's stand at Bristol.

Not keen on the windscreens - the real things aren't square, or flat :(

Jon

The windows (the glass bits at least) are flat. I think you mean that they aren't flat together in the same plane - they are slightly angled to each other

Cheers,

Mick

aha! Yes , someone understood what I meant :)  And that angle would also in turn be visible on the panels that meet and form the leading edge of the cab roof below the air horns:

On an unpainted bare shell I'd have thought it would be clearly visible? Hope I'm wrong though?

I think the windows are angled. Look at the photo of the side profile and look through the side cab window. You can see the opposite side windscreen. If they had been flat then you would not have seen the the view you can.

But tomorrow will tell all as its in the flesh at the Bristol show hopefully.

Well as my bags are packed for Bristol tomorrow and as usual there's not a lot on the box tonight I might as well put these up now.

It's one heck of a long model but thankfully not too heavy. Remember this is a pre-production model and some details will change. One thing that must be got right is that it came with the grills glued to the outside of the openings. Unfortunately it's designed to have them behind the body openings. I managed to sort them out but I have now got to remove some glue before I paint it.

Pictures showing the horizontal motors and the space for the PCB in-between them. There are a set of screw holes as well to take an ESU Loksound chip either side of the PCB. At No2 End under the removable exhaust silencer are a set of slide switches to set up any light configuration you want. There are no instrument lights on this model as the real ones are very dim! There is a light in the radiator compartment to illuminate the equipment in there as per prototype.
