Lines in the landscape/cityscape/waterscape?

An unidentified 66 crossing the creek at Strood, on today's 1125 Allington (near Maidstone) to Whatley Quarry. Must go back with a proper camera when the tide's out and the creek is properly muddy and strewn with shopping trolleys. Rochester Cathedral is in the background, while the castle is behind the loco's side grille, and sort-of visible in reflection in the water:

What's the little hut/lodge thing near the loco?

It's not on railway property; it's just outside the boundary, so I guess it's just some sort of outbuilding associated with the properties along Helm Lane that are a short distance from the line.

Unfortunately the embankment at that point beyond the Network Rail boundary is heavily wooded and the hut/lodge is not visible on Google Maps, as this link hopefully shows;

Helm Lane, Mirfield

Next time I'm there, which won't be in the next couple of days based on the local weather forecast, I'll see if I can provide more information.

I think it's in the garden of 3 Helm Lane. I hope this shows it - look just over the gatepost:

Trying a couple of "over the rooftops" shots today in Rotherham... the light was good, but I wonder if the photos are just too 'busy' like that. Think the 2nd one works better.

A Cleethorpes/Manchester Airport TransPennine 185:

I think the 0947 Southampton Central to Newcastle CrossCountry 220:

I agree. It seems less busy and the Voyager is still integral to the overall view in the landscape.

I really should have found time to go out with the camera today.  Not had many sunny days in this part of West Yorkshire recently.

Two photos from my grandad's collection and one from me.

I don't think my grandad told me about the rail strike of 1955. I am puzzled, as during a strike why services were still running?

Regards

Ross

The strike was called by ASLEF, the drivers/firemen union. The NUR didn't strike and quite a lot of drivers and firemen were members of the NUR not ASLEF.

Nice pic of 76084. Where is it?

Thank-you for the info. Thanks for the kind comment, it was difficult to keep ones balance while taking that photo with the heath covering the uneven ground. The end result shows the North Norfolk Coast with Weybourne peeking through, with 76084 charging up kelling heath bank with the 'Aspergers Flyer' headboard on the 19th August 2015.

I found this whilst having a rummage around recently, Crianlarich in (IIRC) 1996 or 1997 (I knew I had the photo somewhere but I've not been able to find it before!). Apologies for the finger over the corner of the picture (I suppose I should've edited that out).
