eastwestdivide
Three lines in this landscape, and a train on the furthest. I'm still the right side of all the fences, looking coastbound across the Medway viaduct which also carries HS1 over the line between Rochester-Sole Street in the foreground, and Strood-Cuxton in the background. And sheepy-goat things which had horns that they turned away when I took the photo. Pity it was a bit gloomy that day Edited March 24, 2021 by eastwestdivide
RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted March 27, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 27, 2021 (edited) Newhaven's days as a major cross-channel port are well gone, but there are still up-to three sailings each way each day. The rail service to the Harbour station is now rush-hours only. The ferry port is served by the Town station. The East Coastway services with 313s from Brighton & Lewes replace the boat trains from Victoria. Edited July 29, 2023 by phil_sutters

RMweb Gold Tony Teague Posted April 1, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 1, 2021 A couple of images on a very dull day today at Welland Viaduct, Harringworth, Northants. 1st, spot the Corby - Margam steel train headed by 66 194: and then the slightly more obvious southbound Hope to Dagenham Down Yard headed by 66 610. Beautiful building, awful light on a very cold day! Tony 12

WolfofBadenoch
No trains in these photos i'm afraid but they don't come along that often and i had other things to be getting on with! Who said the West Highland Line had no straight sections? Elevated view of WHL heading towards Rannoch Station (think that's possibly the station on the far left of the photo)

eastwestdivide
10 hours ago, PhilJ W said: Or is that a train coming? Both! Annoyingly, the footbridges over both the Nottingham and Derby lines are too far south of the convergence at Clay Cross for a decent photo of trains on the other line. From the bridge on the Derby line (where I was standing for the photo above), you can just glimpse Notts line trains through the bushes, and from the Notts line bridge, you can hear trains on the Derby line.
WolfofBadenoch
Took advantage of the calm day yesterday to go out for a walk in the snow. The horseshoe shaped line of trees is the course of the former Dundee and Newtyle Railway (Newtyle the village in the foreground). Somewhere in the middle distance the old Caley mainline to Aberdeen is also cutting across the photo.
