RMweb Gold martin_wynne Posted December 21, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 21, 2016 Where was this superb picture taken Martin? Hi John, Sorry, I don't know. It is linked from a photography slideshow site rather than a railway site. The image owner hasn't put a watermark with any contact details. It's the slideshow on Radio Paradise: http://radioparadise.com/rp_2s.php A not-for-profit online radio channel with no interruptions, just 24/7 music and a themed slideshow. Great to have on your TV while working. Picture editor Mike has a database of over 49,000 images. I'm pleased to say that he has accepted over 100 of my submissions, and does use them quite often. It's pleasing to look up and notice one of your own photos being displayed to the whole world. There are quite often evocative railway images on there -- lots of songs have been written about trains and railroads. I have posted some of them earlier in this topic. If you enjoy them send Bill a donation: http://radioparadise.com regards, Martin.
RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted December 21, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) Thanks Martin. It looks to me like it's German or maybe Basel Muttenz from the footbridge. Anyway an excellent picture. Edited December 21, 2016 by Re6/
eastwestdivide
... An unidentified Warship waits to leave Ilfracombe with a through train to Paddington in 1970. ... Single Car DMMU P125 heads away from Terras Bridge towards Looe in July 1984. Looks like we've got a new theme here, "trains through the trees". I like it. andy stroud
1984 (Cw_84) Tra_07-84_009 - BR(W) Looe Branch ~ Terras Bridge.jpg Single Car DMMU P125 heads away from Terras Bridge towards Looe in July 1984. Lovely picture and taken from a nicely chosen vantage point but it can't be July as there are no leaves on the trees!
steve W
Ilfracombe - 005 ~ 1970.jpg An unidentified Warship waits to leave Ilfracombe with a through train to Paddington in 1970. A lovely picture, but such an utterly depressing scene. Cheers Steve W
