Pity the 4-TC isn't in a "proper" livery..................

Nice though it is to see and hear a 'Crompton' again on the Bournemouth line, I must admit that I really wish it was a corporate blue 33/1 and that the TC was in blue and grey.

Oh, and dispense with the tail-end 20s too!

Then I'd have felt properly transported back to the mid-1970s.

Not so much Lines in the Landscape but Lines in a Hole in the Ground.

Taken Saturday last as it was only a few minutes walk from St Thomas's Church, the venue for the Scalefour Societies AGM.

For anybody interested in getting their bearings and looking at what the hole in the ground looked like in 1952:

Was at the level crossing north of Burnside Station on the Oxenholme to Windermere line (the Lakes Line) a couple of weeks ago when I stumbled across The Lakelander. This was a shuttle service between Oxenholme and Windernere put on by West Coast Railways (good for them), after Northern had suspended their service due to the new timetable chaos. The train consisted of three coaches sandwiched between a Class 57 and a Class 37.

Was about to pass Capel Banger station on the Vale of Rheidol today (24/9/2018) when I realised the 2 p.m. from Aberystwyth was about to pull out. Luckily I had the camera on the front seat, so stopped just before the crossing and grabbed these pics.

Yep, quite agree, a pic from our previous trip to Switzerland, an overall view of Zermatt from a descending train on the Gornergrat, across to the Brig line (start of the Glacier Express) on the other side of the town.
