Only heard this clattering up the valley towards Diggle - magic.

Thanks for letting me know what I was listening to.

I was orginally intending to take the photo at Diggle, either from the over bridge just before Standedge Tunnel or from the footbridge before Diggle Junction signal box, but I thought it might still be too dull with rain in the air in that part of the world.

At the start of this October I headed north for my usual Scottish autumn camping trip. The fates were not kind, and day succeeded day with heavy rains and high winds on the agenda. Survival was the main thing, and my usual mix of walking and photography was replaced by visiting old haunts and other places of interest in the comforts of a car. Thus it was that I found myself down the narrow lane which serves Tulloch Station, east ot Spean Bridge on the West Highland Railway line, where I took a few snaps. Here are a couple:

Tulloch Station looking east, in the Crianlarich and Glasgow direction

A couple of sidings can be seen to the west of the station, used it appears by the engineers. The station building has been sympathetically extended at the back and is currently used as a backpackers' hostel. Everything looks very neat and tidy.

Class 158 heading south from Tonfanau, just approaching the Dysynni bridge north of Tywyn.

Late afternoon, about the only bit of sun I could find, everywhere else under cloud, cold and dreary.

A Transpennine Express class 185 (It looked like 185124 but I couldn't be 100% sure) working 1F64, 11.46 Scarborough to Liverpool Lime Street, passes 60103 in the Up Passing Loop at Marsden on 20th December 2019.

After waiting for a succession of 185s to pass, Scotsman heads off, in a heavy shower, towards Standedge Tunnel which is just out of sight to the right.

Start of the season on the Vale of Rheidol, triggered by school half-term holidays. Was passing through Devil's Bridge yesterday and spotted number 7 in the station. Bit of drizzle around but took a couple of snaps.
