Tonight we are at Nevers depot, perhaps the largest diesel depot in France. I was given a tour round the shed, and had I arrived an hour earlier, would have had one round the nearby works too. As it was, the working day had ended, so we went round the back, looked through the fences, and picked about a kilogram of the biggest blackberries I've ever had.

Here is LOCMA 0076 inside the roundhouse.

And here, a general view across the turntable, you can see how big the shed is. There were two roundhouses, but one had been pulled down, leaving the turntable and tracks still used.

Here BB67532 is being turned to be placed for repair, or stabling.

Another small Y class, probably Y24xx or Y51xx, loco at Nevers.

Still at Nevers diesel depot, the above shows a front-end comparison with BB67xxx locos. The one nearest has the Delner coupling and is zebra-striped to show it has, the other two have standard couplings.

This is the other side of LOCMA007 inside the depot.

Anyone getting the idea I liked the little Y shunters?

Outside the covered are at the rear were these two, withdrawn I believe. On the left is an unknown Y24xx, and on the right, LOCMA006, converted from a Y22xx.

Nameplate of BB67581, at it's home depot.  Note, the locos aren't really named after the depot, but the town, which I believe, sponsors the loco, paying for the nameplates.

Thus it is quite usual to see locos named after towns many miles from their home area.

This preserved Y24xx loco is to be found on a roundabout close to the entrance to Nevers works.

It seems to be named after, and is thus probably sponsored by, a nearby town.

There may now be somewhat of a pause while I both find, and upload some new photos. I recently turned up a few, loaded half, only to find that they were already there. Tsk!

But there ARE some new ones among them...I just need to identify them and scan them in.
