HitchinLoco
Some 47's found in my old negs. From the Hitchin area Norwich, Cheddington and Thornaby. Last one on the rear of Flying Scotsman just before it failed at Peterborough. This was Donnington Links. Hope of interest. The nice green one was at a open day Bounds Green I think many years back!!

It will take the Leamside Branch at Pelaw and rejoin the main line near Durham 47519 passes Babworth 'box, north of Retford, with the up 'Yorkshire Pullman' on 29th July 1975 Trevor

47164
Not strictly class 47., but the mk2 brake behind 47457 looks to have the br grey carried around to the end on the coach, unless there is a trick of the light!.., any clues on that ? jonny777
Not the most wonderful of photos; but this is 47601 hiding behind a tree whilst getting up close and personal with D7096 at Derby RTC in Sep 1976. The VW Beetle looks well cared for.
Trev52A
While out photographing 'Westerns' I grabbed this shot of a pair of Class 47s at Dawlish. There does not seem to be any exhaust from the second one, so perhaps 47212 is doing all the work? 47212 and 47377 head north though Dawlish on 31st May 1975 Trevor

The leading loco is doing all the work, as the radiator shutters are closed position. This could a position move for that locomotive or going for repair to "OC" Terry . Swifty11
Genuinely shocked at how overgrown the line side is looking down from Slutchers Lane Bridge. Didn't there used to be a signal there? I'm sure there was. Signal is just round the corner as shown in the background of this: 47830 - 0Z48 - Warrington Bank Quay Low Level by Swifty's Photos, on Flickr Shot is horribly overgrown at Slutchers now, probably one summer away from being too far gone sadly...

Trevor The building above the 47 brings back fond memories of when I used to bunk round Gateshead shed in the 1960s. There was some wooden steps at the back of this building which we used to use, then along that building, then turn right past the works into the shed yard. You can see where the steps used to be by the dark stain bottom left to top right on this photo taken on 15/4/2009.

Popular Post Trev52A
I'm still trying solve the mystery of this picture I took 50 years ago! Because the original negative was overexposed I was not able to print it satisfactorily at the time, so didn't bother to keep a proper record of the subject. But digital scanning works wonders and I have a quite presentable picture now. The trouble is, I have no date or even a note of the loco numbers. It was taken at Low Fell, Gateshead, where I did my early 'spotting' and photography. Going by the negative I know it was taken with a camera I was using between 1967 and 1969. The train is heading north and is obviously the 'Anglo-Scottish Car Carrier' (whether that name was still in use at the time, I'm not sure.) Both the Type 2 leading and the Brush Type 4 (which has presumably failed) are in original green livery. Any ideas what the locos are, and the date, anyone? Needless to say it is the only photo I ever took of a diesel brake tender with XP headlamps! Taken at Low Fell, probably 1967/8 Thanks in advance!
