Rivercider
Here are a couple from the days when you could find a class 47 in any colour, as long as it was blue. After the withdrawal of the last Westerns class 47s worked the majority of the Mendip stone trains before the first class 56s turned up in the west country. On a Saturday afternoon with the stone programme over for the week here they are congregated at Westbury depot. 47100 on the left, 47027, 47080, 47055, 47240, 47225 and 47063 nearest the camera, 26/4/80 47293, 47082 and 47326 are joined by 08756, 26/4/80 From the station end, 47027 to the fore, another of the class stands to the left in the stabling sidings, 26/4/80 cheers Edited October 10, 2013 by Rivercider

DOCJACOB
Further to post 30 I offer this humble item. Normally at Brocklesby it was double headed 37's on the iron ore trips to Scunthorpe but late 1990 saw a regular double headed 47's on oil workings. I have others but currently this is the only one I've dug out. For the record 47.423 (Sceptre) and 47.???
eastwestdivide
There were 47s doing steam-heat at least as late as 1986. Here one night at Edinburgh, under very yellow lighting. Another Scottish one, this time Inverness, 1982, with a nice selection of signals. Maybe 47218 from the scan: Edited October 12, 2013 by eastwestdivide

eastwestdivide
Old Oak Open Day 1985, G.J.Churchward, Sir Danny Gooch and IKB... ...and Great Western to complete (?) the set of green ones with cast numberplates. Possibly a Reading open day? and staying Western, is this one 47901, annoying the residents of Newbury with their washing out in 1986? Appears to be air-brake only, and bit late on for general 47 use on Yeoman trains. Edited October 12, 2013 by eastwestdivide

SGJ
Do you have details of where and when this photo was taken. I am a member of the Class 47 Preservation Project which now owns the loco (as 47771) and I am compiling a bit of a "47771 This is Your Life" so any info on what the loco has done etc is always welcome. Best wishes Simon Hi Simon, I cant remember the exact date for the picture, It was taken at March Depot in July 1991, I cant give a actual date, but would have been a Saturday in July ( the nameplates had been removed the month before in June as it was a talking point with a couple of mates in the model club ). SGJ
Since 47 190 is a current Bachmann release she is pictured at York, I had a Lima model of her at the time These photographs that I have are making me think what did I do in my younger days, I can remember some of it but I cant remember a heck of a lot more, for example people were asking me about 47503 from a earlier post when I visited March shed to get the class 45s after being withdrawn, I cant remember that much about going to march, but this particular photograph has so many memories, I visited the museum, 89001 came in to York on a charter with the mk1 set that was allocated to bounds green, the same evening I went to a friends house and played on his n gauge train layout
