What is missing from the photo is the other bread delivery, he nipped across before the gates closed because he delivered 'Nimble'

I’ve not noticed protrusions above the buffer beam cowling like that before. Any thoughts about their purpose?

What ever the purpose of those brackets, one on no2 end survived till withdrawn, and the ones at no1 end had gone by 1981.

They're lamp brackets. Many 47s had one or more broken off during their lives.

They aren't the normal lamp brackets on 1570, it has the usually ones attached on the buffer housing............

Nice photo's Ian, in the first one you appear to have got what looks like a Bird of Prey flying just above the trees as well!

Pretty sure it is  a Red Kite.

There is normally at least one floating around within sight.

My mates all reckon that Crossing Keeper is only the second best job in the world. They say that Porn Star is the best.

My argument is that Porn Star is too much like hard work. I get to sit an watch T!ts all day (and woodpeckers, Red Kites, etc)

Who is right, I wonder...

Ian
