87023Velocity
Managed to get the 20 progressed to the point its basically ready for varnishing. The running number 20304 has been applied. On Dallam I now have 20302/303/304 and 37610 for the DRS flask workings - think thats enough DRS locos! Again a coat of satin varnish and weathering will be applied. RMweb Gold MarshLane Posted November 1, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 1, 2020 Nicely done Simon - that last picture looks like one of the old Sellafield to Crewe loco movements before Gresty Bridge was acquired! Rich
Clagmeister
Just had a good look right through this thread. Excellent stuff Sir. Loads of inspiring stuff for my plans. Also as both a Sellafield and then Kingmoor Driver in the early 2000's i'd forgotten about some of the lash ups we had going back and forward on 7C53 and 7K73. Thanks Claggy 1

No, i'm not with DRS anymore left in 2015 and followed the work to carry on driving 37/4s with Northern from Workington. Since left in 2018 to be a steam driver amongst other things with LSL Toc based at Carlisle. Sorry thread drift. Excellent Dallam layout.
87023Velocity
The DRS 20 and 37 are basically done apart from weathering and at somepoint swap out the pizza cutter wheelsets on the 20. Both locos have received a coat of satin varnish which has toned things down. Glazing has been fitted along with the communication cables on the nose end of the 37 (just noticed these need another coat of black). jonas
Stunning photos as always. Really flying the flag for realistic n gauge! Any details on the locos you are working on, or will all be revealed? Do you plan any mods on the Farish 87 or are you generally happy as is?

Thanks mate, the 87 will have its bogie centres repositioned as per my previous 87s , high speed pan, detailed bufferbeam, wire handrails on cab front and cab door. The 47 will become 47749 in RES livery complete with cutback bufferbeams. The 56 will become 56134 Blyth Power in RF Coal, still in this livery in 2001. The 86/2 will be in Intercity, number to be decided. Cheers Simon 1
RMweb Gold Markwj Posted November 27, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 27, 2020 Got to say it’s really impressive work on the locomotives especially considering you are working in N gauge. I struggle to fit manufacturer supplied detailing parts to a OO model! Love the layout too memories of my home town.
87023Velocity
Thanks for the comments and likes everyone! The resprays are progressing, undercoat and warning yellow applied. The DMU will become LO298, as seen here at Man Vic in 1991 linked from Flickr and not my picture. Popular Post 87023Velocity
Bit more progress over the last few days with the resprays, the 47 and 56 are basically finished spraying wise, just little bits of touching up required. The 86 and 87 just need the roof sections spraying rail grey and the red/white stripes spraying on aswell. Cheers Simon 19

87023Velocity
A few more locos on the workbench to progress, the redstripe 37 is going to become 37355, this was started at the start of lockdown but needs transfers adding and I also need a chassis! The 90 will become 90009. Also got the last few mgrs to make my rake upto 36 wagon rake, the 10 recently obtained wagons will be weathered and loads added.
