Stupid question perhaps, but if you shoot trespassers won't they still be on the railway? And equally dead? And won't you now be legally responsible for the death, rather than the trespasser? Sorry for being a spoilsport.

I really think he’s probably joking rather than making a logical case...

Well, I can see the track comes from the right (where there's more tracks in the middle distance), curves round to cross the frozen road.

There's also a crossroads with traffic lights behind the loco and an elevated road (or railway) running left to right.

Or is there more too it than that?:scratchhead:

A 56 on a mail train?  Why not?  (Apparently a Swansea-Willesden working with the 56 covering for a failure, and the 56 ripped at Bristol). Photo at Cardiff Central.

Shame it was fitted with OTMR (black box) by then as given half a chance it would knock spots off 47 timings and probably 67 ones

A good idea in a crisis.

We've not driven Loco's down the road like that over here, but we have used them as generators at power stations a few times.

IIRC the Rail company parked the loco in the city square to provide emergency power. The city then had the gall to complain about the damage to the road when they drove the loco back to the railhead after they'd finished with it...
