Could indeed be. It belongs to another member of the team so will enquire. Thank you for your comments re the layout and the scrap yard. The cranes need more work and will be finishing off a roll on roll off scrap container. Also top part of yard to have the more expensive types of scrap in it. The Worksop will be fitted out with the welding flash and Langley models welders.

Looking good, nice work guys.

What brand is the kit built container crane? it's not one i've seen before, it's got good presence! Was the kit designed at 'Heljan Gauge' on the crane tracks or has it been modified to match?

I've mentally dabbled with the procedures involved with powering a kit crane to run the same as the Heljan model, after breaking it down in my head it's not impossible but you'd want to have a lot of spare time on your hands, a good selection of tools, and the patience of a saint before starting! I can fully understand why Heljan stopped making the cranes and why no other manufacturers have tried it since.

Keep the pics coming, loving it!

To ring the changes in the scrapyard a small industrial shunter is the Christmas project. Bought Rusty at the Spalding Show in Nov this year.

Has a chunky chassis and main work will involve drilling out windows, adding door handles and handrails as well as fitting decoder and weathering up.

The main shunter will be based upon Judith Edge Sentinel kit but every time go near the soldering iron fumes bring on breathing difficulties. Apart from wearing mask anyone any ideas on less fume making fluxes etc?

Put your anorak on (I know you keep it handy) and then open the window and solder in front of the window.

In between Christmas meals managed a little more modelling. Shunter has all handrails and engine cover handles in place. Brass large head buffers added. Glazing has been cut to size but will be added after weathering. Need to be added are the lifting rings and plates on buffer beams, missing access door hinges and refitting the steps. Has been thoroughly run in and will have chip fitted and will then see what crew can be added.post-9435-0-93500000-1388085044_thumb.jpg
