A'right Swaggers!

Anyone fancy a Kernow Christmas meeting? Perhaps a gathering and train ride at Bodmin & wenford?

Then pasty and cup of tea?

Any other suggestions welcome, just an idea at the moment.

Or even a "closed branchlines jaunt" Pasty/pie and Beer?

Fire away...!

Jack.

Good idea, Jack - I've organised these in the past, but we've tended to hold them up near Taunton, so as to allow those from our far-flung Northern Borders - those up in the frozen wastes of Gloucestershire, folk like Dagworth, holding his lonely vigil and keeping watch for marauders from the Midlands etc....!  :D

However, I'd be up for something a bit more local, either in the Duchy or across the border in England?... ;)

There's a most fine curry house very close to the South Devon Railway in Buckfastleigh.... :sungum:

Thanks for the replies. Perhaps I will PM a few kernow members of the parish. And see if they concur?

I know its short notice and far away for many people. But Hayle are holding their bi-annual show on saturday the 7th Dec if anyone is going?

But a bit of T9 action sounds very tempting...?

I'm wondering if we also need an end-of-year show of strength on the border to let those midland marauders know that we are strong and vigilant.

Something like this... http://www.gwsr.com/planning-your-visit/2013-events-calendar/christmas-cracker.aspx

Andi

Go for it, Andi - show 'em that The Noble Realm is still strong and won't take any nonsense from any marauding Brummies, just coming into our land for the cheap pasties and the sheep...

No worries Paul.

I was thinking its getting on a bit now towards Christmas.

Perhaps if people are attending any SW shows after the new year. Or even better the taunton members day 2014, im sure many of us will be there to have a natter and meet members. Right CK? Im looking forward to the RMweb members day

Cheers

Jack

The GWR "Christmas Cracker" Gala is fast approaching, anyone else want to come and spend a day on the SWAG borders? I'm more leaning towards the Monday. It is a very intensive timetable with both kettles and blue boxes, many trains are diagrammed to be double headed with both steam and diesel. Timetable is available online here http://www.gwsr.com/media/270795/christmas%20cracker%202013.pdf

Watchman Dagworth

Sounds great, Watchman Dagworth, but alas, family commitments mean that you will have to continue your Lonely Vigil without my attendance on this occasion...

Good luck, though, and remember, never let your guard down, those Brummois are always watching!!  ;)  :P
