RMweb Premium Grafarman Posted January 7, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 7, 2014 ' This was at a time when Heaton had a very severe shortage of working dmus, some Newcastle Carlisle trains were replaced by 47s on Mk1s which could cause consternation at Carlisle if they arrived when not expected and needed the 08 to release the 47.' It's these nuggets of anecdotal information that really bring these pictures to life and sets them apart from other 'pictures only' galleries IMO. And I love the shot of D240 in the snow; dirty loco and wagons against the crisp white - wonderful! Inspiring and fascinating stuff... David
NXEA!
Is that a pair of Southern Maunsell vans behind the 26 at Plockton? Didn't think they were as well travelled as that!
blueeighties
Hi guys. Fantastic thread. I am trying to get some shots of Cramlington railway station, particularly the buildings, preferably in 1980's condition, but anything would be a great help. Anyone?
