daveymills
First attempts at weathering. Starting off with some Gresley coaching stock. Underframes and roofs are sprayed. Coach sides are washed with a mixture of black acrylic paint and thinners.
rs4
I do like the look of those. Have you done the all important job of painting the wheels ? I'd give yourself a star overall !
daveymills
wheels will be taken off and sprayed separately :-) the wash works really well - very little remains on the bodysides - just enough wash to take the plasticky shine off the surface and also to highlight all the ridges and edges that is not really seen when pristine thanks for the thumbs up Latest one to be treated is a Mark 1 BSK cheers Dave

daveymills
A Mark II regional railways set - TSO + reclassified BSK. Usual approach is to add a wash to the bodysides. The wash is a mix of 20% black acrylic paint and 80% thinners. Once applied with a cotton bud, it is allowed to dry a little (5-10 mins), then a 2nd cotton bud soaked in thinners spreads the wash more evenly and leaves a fairly small amount - just enough to enhance the appearence. Roofs are sprayed with roof dirt, underframes and end sprayed with frame dirt.
