Looks great! I may have missed it somewhere but what are the overall dimensions?

Thanks mate! No you have missed it, I just never have got around to measuring it  :jester:  It's just over 4ft long and about 14 inchs wide, that a rough guess. All fits neatly on top of an Ironing Board   :mosking:

After nearly 2 years of hibernation, Compton Quay is making yet another return, this time at the Weston-Super-Mare Model Train Show, happening this coming Sunday, 15th January 2017.
In this update, I go though what I've done to get the layout ready for it 4th and largest outing to-date, as well as discuss information on the show itself.
If your attending the show, please feel free to come over and say Hi!
Hope you enjoy!

Had a superb day at the Weston-Super-Mare Model Train Show, displaying Compton Quay. The layout performed extremely well, as did the operators. Special thanks to Adam and Oliver for the help. Was nice to meet some new fellow modellers and RMweber's too, plus see all the other superb layouts on display. All for a good cause too! A massive thanks to Keith for a very well organized show as perusal.

Think this image really sums up the day very well. Still leaves the question "How many men does it take to do the Ironing" :jester:

Pictures and a full video of the layout are to follow, but in the mean time. Here's my full video of the event.

Hope you enjoy!

Really enjoyed the videos. I see your stock all use tension lock couplers, do you uncouple them by hand, or am I missing something?

Yep all standard couples. I have a little uncouple tool I use to uncouple them, which I made from some left over parts from the Metcalfe Kits used  ;)

A short video taking a look at my 00 Gauge Micro Exhibition Layout "Compton Quay", based on a fictitious Dockside Scene. The layout consists of two dock side sidings, with a low-relief warehouse, dock gate house and an engine room building (which is used as a pumping house for the dock itself), which hides the entrance to the small fiddle yard. The dockside itself is cobbled, created but a using very simple technique, involving modelling clay and an old pen. One of the layouts most interesting features is that it stands on top of an Ironing Board, showing its simplicity and size. Compton Quay will be on display this November at the following shows; Wincanton Model Railway Exhibition - 11th/12th November Thornbury & SG Model Railway Exhibition - 18th/19th November Burnham & District Model Railway Exhibition- 25th/26th November

Hope to see you there!

Sorry only a flying visit by me, so didn't catch up with you, but still good to see a layout I have been following on here.

Tref.

No worries Tref. Glad you enjoyed the showl. Must admit I was running around the show, filming the other layout for a few hours over the weekend, so I might of been of hiding (had my friend on hand to cover some of the shunting movements)  :jester:

Off to Thornbury with it this weekend and then Burnham the week after. Certainly is going to be a busy month for the layout  :locomotive:So if your around for them, you might run into the layout again  :jester:

As usual, had a few visitors to the layout during the Wincanton Show, including a mixture of DC and DCC Sound! Highlights include the new Oxford Janus with Sound, a pair of Model Rail USA Tanks and a Hornby Huntley and Pamler Peckett! A young visitor also brought along his Thomas and James to have a little go, certainly made his day to see it on the layout. :)

Hope you enjoy!
