bigwordsmith
I didn't hear Borus say we'll go back to feet and inches if we tell Junker & Co to sling their hook, but it does have a nice rebellious feel to it I still think in MPH, and calculate consumption in mpg! simonfish45
I still think in MPH, and calculate consumption in mpg! Though with an exchange of 1 Gallon [uK] = 4.54609 Liters you can see why they don't sell it by the Gallon!

simonfish45
Yeah, lets do away with all this imperial measurements stuff, on our 4x2 boards with our 4mm:1ft scale models... Just a thought - G3 is 2 1/2" gauge 17/32" to the 1' => O Gauge 1 1/4" gauge 17/64" to the 1' => HO Gauge 5/8" gauge 17/128" (3.374mm) to the 1' - before business moved in and did some rounding up! Though I woudn't put that on any track threads and expect to escape unscathed...

RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted June 10, 2016 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted June 10, 2016 Oh, by the way, I have almost finished the Van B and Spams still hasn't commented on the shade of green wot I did use. I say almost finished as I am not doing the decals yet, I have not detailed it, I will probably get some more 'blackboards and paint them first then glue them over the existing ones and I might not bother weathering it in case someone else wants to at a later date. Pic(s) tomorrow if I CBA. Ar$e

I remember a pub about 15 years ago in Pimlico that specialised in cider. Can't recall the name - too addled after a session there. Is it still going? brianusa
Feel good in the fact that the last Imperial hold out is the good ole US of A which considering why they left the Colonies, is a miracle. Now if they could only spell properly! Brian.
RMweb Premium Ian Smeeton Posted June 11, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 11, 2016 Yes, but the colonial gallon is a bit shorter than the Imperial gallon, isn't it. We would have ended up with half a cup at the Boston Tea Party, if we had stayed. Regards Ian

The Blue Streak
I know that you do like to build coaches Phil and have seen many items of your doing around RM Web. If they produce a version that isn't a brake and without a bog, then I might just pretend that it is the 'summer service' Strengthener coach for the Seaton Branch. However it would need repainting and I know one person that would tell me it isn't the correct length etc. (nicely though as he is mostly a gentleman.......... ) Ar$e

bgman
The young man in question is a (very ) Civil Engineer who just happens to be a great admirer of a certain Mr.Brunel which gets my vote straight away. The wedding isn't until next September. Does anyone know what the railways are like in Cyprus ? That's where it's all going to happen and I get a holiday too !!
