It is amazing how much dust had accumulated in the club rooms. Once vacuumed everything ran ok.. the Graphite on the track still works!

@Michael Edge.. we seem to have a change of gauge on one of the points on the main line though.

Looking forward to when we can have running sessions again.

Two Salt wagons....

Cheers to our Australian correspondent

They look good, though I say so myself. I built them (Airfix) about 35 years ago, for the late but not entirely lamented Hartford Junction. Good to see them in context at last.

So we have now tidied up all of the chapel "show" crates, plus the area around the layout.

Mike Edge has been down today " adjusting" some pointwork.

A frog needs rewiring then time to clean the track and regraphite it.

Then..signals to be mororised and the missing houses built...

Busy, busy, busy!

With controlled access to Chapel, its time to finish some new stock for the next outing. Every since I started building kits in my late teens, I always wanted to scratch build a loco and the choice for me was a LNWR coal tank or a Fowler Patriot (no complicated multi plain curves!). Well, I have finally built one of them, although I decided to go down the design an etch route.

I give you 45539 “EC Trench”

I forgot to put the other smoke deflector on for the photo

Tender is my own etched sides on a comet chassis.

After an hour test running on Chapel this afternoon she (or is it he?) is ready for a good scrub and possibly a coat of primer tomorrow

Turns out it was the wing rail that had become detached from the frog baseplate. The wing rail just happened to be the one with the wire on it from the point motor switch. All fixed now

Track has been cleaned and some graphite re-instated. Pigeon droppings require a lot of hard work to remove them!

A set of stock for Chapel was run around to check all was well.. it is but some basebaord joints need resetting...

A new video should appear over Christmas as I was at the Club "testng" some new stock.

For next year the layout will be at York at Easter, Liverpool and Wigan later in the year.

Hope to see you at these shows.

Stay safe and Enjoy the Festive Season!

Liverpool might almost v be doable from here but the 4th is already booked, and admission ticketed, for Fawley Hill so it has full precedence.  Shame you're missing Pigs Hill this year.

N.b.  Pigs Hill - translated from the old English  'Swine Dun' .  And over time lazily corrupted in both spoken and written terms to  Swindon
