Hi Simon,

Its good to see you are ready for your trip down south, we are all looking forward to seeing you all on Friday.

The large metal road signs are now out along the A19 and on the way to the venue by Royal Quays, the rest of the road signs will go out on Thursday.

Regards

Chris

Finishing off the checking and preparing 'The Maxwell Colliery Loading Point' for it first sojourn over the border on Friday. For those not familiar with the layout, its featured in the current edition of BRM - including a blue class 56 on front cover hauling haa'a - and I have also attached some of the many photographs taken by Nigel Burkin which gives you some flavour of what to expect. Looking forward to our trip to the North East and please do say hello and we are happy to let any interested parties see behind the workings of the tower. Max

Off to put out the remaining road signs (About 80ish) and typically it has started raining. Then it will be off to the venue to help finish off marking out the floor space, put the tables out, run the electric cables out, and maybe get to bed before midnight?????

Keep on going, Chris! It's almost over...

Blackgill is all packed up and ready to go for tomorrow. Everything is working, all niggling issues have been fixed (but no doubt something will crop up at the show, as usual!), and the operating team are all briefed and raring to go. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow - hopefully the rain will hold off long enough for us to all get into the hall and set up.

What time can we get in to start unloading vans etc. tomorrow?

Hopefully we'll see lots of RMWebbers there this weekend - come and say hello if you're passing!

All the best,

Arp

We can set up from 09:30hrs tomorrow, that's if you're up that early, sadly I will be!!!!!!

If you have any photo's of 'Blackgill' can you put them up on this thread so everyone can see what a fantastic layout they will be missing if they don't come over the weekend.

All the road signs are up, fortunately I managed to dodge the worse bits of the rain, though my jeans and boots are sopping wet after walking through the 'Jungle' infested roadsides (Whatever happened to cutting the verges????).

Floor area now all marked out and waiting for the tables to be delivered.

Waiting for the programmes to arrive hopefully by 16:00hrs.

Regards

Chris

Lets hope I get some time off car park duties to spend some time watching it. Didn't really get to see it last time in 2011.

while I am a diesel modeller, this steam layout has always drawn my attention from reviews at shows etc therefore while my own layout is the hands of the guest operators, I will spend some time watching this layout at first hand. Maxwell Colliery now fully prepared and awaiting van tomorrow morning. Max

Hi All,

Just back from the venue. Most of the tables and barriers are now arriving tomorrow, so the usual mad dash to get it all sorted.

Photo of the empty venue with a few of the tables we have managed to put out -

Hi All,

Everything set up apart from a couple of stragglers coming first thing tomorrow morning. Just got back home after righting a few road signs on the way home that had been blown round with the wind.

Sorry for no photos my phone died on me and I forgot my camera, you'll just have to come along tomorrow and see for yourselves.

Regards

Chris

Hi Everyone,

Just off to the show to do some last minute jobs.

Hope to see as many of you as possible, please make yourself known, I'll probably be in the car park directing you to your space.

Regards

Chris

Hi Everyone,

Not long back home after a very busy day. i was stuck in the car park until about 3pm before it eased up, which was quite fortunate as the heavens open for a torrential downpour.

Everyone has said it has been really busy today with the queue out the sports centre door at 10am.

Hopefully someone has took some photos that they can put up here as I was busy in the car park, otherwise I will try to get some tomorrow.

If you couldn't make it today come along tomorrow you will not be disappointed.

Regards

Chris
