P.C.M Posted February 6, 2015 Author Share Posted February 6, 2015 I have almost finished my model of D200 and while weathering the roof I noticed it has some extra beading which goes along the top of the cantrail grilles and out past the roof fan to the next roof section. I was racking my brains trying to figure out what junction that was, and I think I have only ever seen photos from the platform ends; but now this angle has been pointed out I see exactly what you mean. Steve-e Posted February 7, 2015 Share Posted February 7, 2015 Peter I don't have any roof shots of D200, I've still a few side shots left. 40122 kd.jpg D200 coming to the rescue of a steam special Ray I was on that Date was 22/03/1986 40122 + 44767 at Carlisle with 1Z10 Carlisle - Kilmarnock BR Special "The Nith Valley Express" I believe this was BR cashing in on a move to get the Steam loco to Scotland. 40122 piloted 44767 under the wires to Annan where 44767 worked to Kilmarnock then 40122 worked the train back to Carlisle. Turns out to be 33101 rescuing 40001 at Eastleigh from the Campbell road bridge??? after it ran out of fuel with a Coatbridge - Southampton Maritime liner on 18/06/1983 Was the loco supposed to be swapped somewhere but wasn't resulting in the 40 failure? Actually I think all the long-term Haymarket locos had their multiple working removed, from sometime in the late 1960s. Haymarket also had the habit of adding screens behind the drivers and secondman' seats on their 40s, a similar arrangement to the Deltics.
