Great pic Sivio.

I'll be heading to Tuscany in the summer for my annual holiday to Bella Italia and I'll be taking my camera along for some railway pics.

Here's a pic of a E656 at Vipiteno in 1989.

Hi Silvio.

Great pictures. I have been fortunate enough to spend time in Tuscanny (Castlenuovo De Garfagnana) and have done a modest amount of travel on regional railways. Here are a couple of my photos I Have of the slightly more interesting rail vehicles I have seen in my travels.

Engineers loco? Interesting that it has spoked wheels. Didn't think anyone used them anymore.

Not sure what they would use this for (Bridge repair?) but, it would be reasonably easy to model I should think. Hornby flat wagon with Matchbox mixer?

Spotted this just out of Florence. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to find out more. Maybe someone here might know have some information.

Hello from another latecomer. After a recent holiday by rail to Italy I've not unnaturally become very interested in the railways of this gorgeous country. I've thoroughly enjoyed your website Silvio;it's bookmarked, I'll be returning to it.

Hello every one! Just a quick stop to say hello from "Milano Chiaravalle".

Greetings from Milan,

Silvio - www.datrains.eu

Hi Silvio

I've just discovered Milano-Chiaravalle and your very inspiring website. I am really impressed by your modelling, especially the buildings, and you've really captured the atmosphere of the approaches to a large urban station. Thanks for sharing your techniques with us.

Ciao

David

Much work has been done in all this time. I almost finished the whole city area although there are still several details missing...

Thanks Silvio

It's raining here in London too, but in our 1:87 world it is alway sunny.

Just one more question Silvio.

The catenary system you use looks like the kit that “TecnoModel” advertise on their website. Can you tell me what the brand name is, who makes it?

I’m not in Europe....

Thanks, Pete.

The catenary masts are mainly from LineaModel (http://www.lineamodel.com/palificazione-linea-model-kit-1-87.html). They are all kit, many of which are highly modified to give it the desired position. The big mast over the four-track is scratch-built.

Bye!

Silvio
