that's great news and make sense,,,,  is there any news on the recovery and thoughts on the Rudyard bodies and the other possible

body that came to light

The last information I received was that the Rudyard bodies would be moving to Foxfield in the next few months, assessment as to their condition and future intentions will then follow.

One of the restored coaches will be visiting Cheddleton on the Churnet Valley Railway over the weekend of 21 and 22 June to raise awareness of the project to restore coach 28 and the knotty trust will be in attendance.

Here's a tease of what can be expected.

Bellerophon heads the restored Knotty coaches at Foxfield Colliery complete with the temporary brake vehicle painted in an appropriate livery. This was a recent clearance and acceptance trial.

I'm off to the Knotty preview evening later, looking forward to seeing them paired up with the Beyer Peacock today. Tomorrow is the contributor's special and Saturday and Sunday (9th and 10th) are the public days. We want plenty of people to come dressed in period costume so dig out those old waistcoats and crinoline dresses... (ladies also welcome in period dress ;) )

Apparently I was incorrect in this post and the trust weren't previously aware of these bodies. However they have since inspected the two bodies, spoken to the owner and will be recovering them to foxfield soon with the aim of restoring the better preserved body and conserving the other.

The power of rm web........

Give them chance. The next project is NSR No.28 which is now in the custody of the NSRRST and for which fund raising has started.

Anyway. Must be off. Have a Beyer Peacock to prepare for today's public trains. Fares are the standard prices today, no supplements for the privilege of sampling these coaches.

The weekend went off extremely well except for the weather on Sunday which made it a bit of a washout in the morning, but at least the coaches are water tight!

Here's a couple of shots of the very first fare paying passenger service on Saturday 9th August, departing Caverswall Road at 12 noon

The first passenger departure from Caverswall Road this weekend features the Knotty coaches and is timed at 9.10pm. The Knotties will then alternate with the standard passenger rake on hourly departures from 10am onwards. To achieve this requires separate arrival and departure platforms so the trains will be shunted from platform one to the bay platform for departure, something that rarely happens so opportunities for the track bashers amongst us :)
