I thought St Ruth captured the essence of Penzance very well, and when I was watching some excellent slow running in 2mm scale.

As I live about 4 miles west of Penzance, and thus know the area well, I thought the buildings captured the real ones very well, though I think the road above the station - Chyandour Cliff - is a bit narrower in 1:1 scale, there doesn't seem to be as much room to pass in my car.

I did see some early stock at one point .... I was reminded of the Gibson photo's in a late 1890's Railway Magazine.

I have copies somewhere, but due to a computer crash etc., I lost a lot of data... If you want them posted here (or in the Prototype section), let me know.

I'm afraid that I can plead guilty to the early stock - I have a set of 4 4/6 wheelers that I am trying to get built, but only managed to get two of them acceptably finished for a trip to St Ruth.  They are in the early Edwardian livery (prior to the change over to all Lake), and are a work in progress.  Since the weekend I have raised them a little by adding some black plasticard between the chassis and body to bring the roofs up to the correct height - they now look a bit more sensible behind my saddle tank!

Image of the 2 coaches prior to being raised 0.5mm.  A bit of detail of the build can be found in my blog :

On behalf of the Woodfield Road team can I offer sincere thanks to the organisers.  We were very well looked after indeed, the only down side being the M25 car park but I suspect that is beyond their control.

Found an excellent curry house in Ewell on the Friday and a Chinese for the Saturday.  Decent beer difficult to track down though.

Very enjoyable weekend, will try and get as a visitor next year.
