coline33
Steve, I have just received PLA 74. This Hornby Peckett W4 is the quietest and slowest loco I have. Very pleased with the detail and finish of it. Find I still have not affixed the Narrow Planet etched plates to renumber my Janus to 200!!!
cheesysmith
Must admit the work on the OAA does bring out the best feature of the old Hornby model, namely the body. Excellent work. Pity Hornby didn't put any interior detail on them lol.

I didn't realise they were around, I'd kind of given up seeing them! I had one on order, it's not paid for so I'll have to chase it up. 7 hours ago, cheesysmith said: Must admit the work on the OAA does bring out the best feature of the old Hornby model, namely the body. I'm far from an expert but by all accounts the bodies are quite good for their time, I've got a few so as long as I keep them from sitting next to the newer Bachmann's I'm happy.

sb67
I've got these ''trees'' from some Thyme cut from the garden. They're pretty dry and brittle, my question is should I seal them with anything, varnish them or just use them as they are?
AlfaZagato
I'd consider using them as-is. Looks much like a dead bush or so.

coline33
Steve, ever thought of planting thyme on the layout and have living trees? Another way of doing indoor gardening! On first seeing your photo I thought you had got flooded with tree branches floating in the garden!!! Colin.

RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted April 7, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 7, 2020 Cucumber & Tomato Plants https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00117EAXE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_c2lJEb63E3BKZ A bit on the expensive side for what they are I suppose
sb67
I'm not sure what to put in it yet Chris, it comes with some staging that I've got to build and some other bits, some really tiny pots etc. I wish I was as precise as you when it comes to those bits. Thanks for the link, that looks interesting.

westernviscount
Hi Steve. I finally visited your blog!! There's excellent stuff here mate. I especially like the weathered plank wagons a page or so back!!! What make of kit are the BRUTEs? They definitely look the part. Dave

The BRUTE's were a Peter Clarke Models kit that I've had in my box for years. The wheels were difficult to put on and are a bit fragile but other than that, using some photo's from the internet were pretty straightforward to build. sb67
Another bit of a distraction, although along with the greenhouse will get used on my layout. I've just got to add a roof of corrugated sheet, which leads me to a question. What colour would the corrugated sheet be painted or if it's not painted what colour would it be? The layout is meant to be late 60's early 70's.
coline33
Steve, is your garden shed wholly corrugated? The sides look timber planked for staining with only the roof being corrugated sheeting for which you are good at 'rusting'. Colin.
coline33
Steve, back on the PLA theme, Hardy Hobbies have a 3D print kit for a PLA Hudswell Clarke steamer to fit on an Electrotren outside cylinder 0-6-0T mech. Details, price and instructions on their website. Colin.

I've rusted the roof, I figured the sheets might have been "borrowed" from the nearby railway so wouldn't have been in the best condition anyway. 4
coline33
Thanks, Steve, trust the nearby railway was a Colonel Stephens' one with permission!!! I am a member of your nearest one! Keep safe, Colin.
