RMweb Premium MJI Posted April 19, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) Trying to create less threads I am going to post into one. I have 4 modelling locations, usually dining room as I can use the computer and see the TV. My current jobs are completing a DC Kits 128 and my Bar Car E1883 I am 80% through the Bar Car, I will take a picture tomorrow and upload it. Currently doing the insides, I made a load of seats and it is not too bad. This is it before I stripped and resprayed. RMweb Premium MJI Posted April 20, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted April 20, 2014 Here is the recent progress. Seats are made out of some gelcoat I had no other use for, interior is 20 thou plastic card top view. side view and the foot boards have fallen off. A couple of Airfix 2Ds are reserved for this coach and I will need a Bachmann or someone else BG as a NEA

RMweb Premium MJI Posted April 27, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted April 27, 2014 Been a busy weekend playing with cars, I have a new one after a non fault RTA last year, and I am slowly getting it up to spec. So after removing the EGR I replaced the front discs and pads, and found some wheel nuts at 500Nm. After a test drive it was back to E1883 Bar area coming along First coat of paint The start of more underframeboxes Please note the white haze in the kitchen - those are superglue fumes. Looks like epoxy for table fitting now! 6

Colin parks
Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Superglue fumes have fogged some of the windows. Some of them have had 5 or 6 different windows Hi Martin, I have just read of your window troubles. If you get yourself a tube of Colgate Regular or Total (white not gel) toothpaste and a cotton bud, you will be able to remove fogging as long as it is not more than a day or two since it occurred. (As soon as possible after the glue has cured is of course ideal.) To avoid fogging when you next fit window panes: after applying the superglue to the window, breathe hard for a few seconds on the inside and out of the area glued. This will accelerate the curing process and also drive off the fumes which cause the problem. Superglue fogging is also a sign of excess glue being used. Good luck! RMweb Premium MJI Posted May 11, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 11, 2014 New boxes and replacement trusses They can now sit down Corridor side Kitchen side Latest state of interior I am now getting some serious lack of information now, I know the insides of the end walls are wood, I THINK the partitiions are light wood. I am guessing at grey walls and stuff inside say something lighter than Humbrol 64. But I need the colours of the table tops, the seat colours and any interior details of the bar area.
RMweb Premium MJI Posted May 24, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 24, 2014 Found some interior shots I have downloaded for my own information, the contact button did not work or I would have chatted with them Currently fitting tables to E1883, pictures up later Next projects will be a rebuild to a Triang Hornby Mark 2 TSO be become a 2A, same with a Lima 2B TSO, but stay 2B, an Airfix 2D BFK out of an FO and a BSO. Other possibles are a 2C BSO if I can get some more cheap Limas. Now the Mark 2s You cannot find Bachmann TSOs for love nor money, but I have a number of the old Triang Hornby ones (between 4 and 6) and 2 of the later chrome window Hornbys. I will be test rebuilding 1 shell to see how it goes, will again up some piccies later.

I am trying to work out how to do them as quickly as possibly as there are 8 2B and 8 or 9 2/2A I still need to buy a decent BG (NEA) and another Airfix FO for the Eastern Region based NESW set. 2 mods are as follows Carve off window frames and smooth, remove all lining seperators. Carve off and drill handrails grab handles and door handles. TH 2/2A only file off door edges and scrib, new edges and hinges. Both underframes are a bit pants
