Here is a unusual livery for you.

I picked up a Lima deltic for just £12 as it was a good runner, but the repaint, transfers, flush glazing and nameplates cost a lot more. At least I had a spare DCC chip in stock.

Probably the most unusual cavalcade on the network on the 9th April 2018 - D9009 Alycidon leads D200, D213 Andania, 40012 Aureol and 47765 through the drizzle approaching Brighouse with 0Z04, 16.48 York NRM to Bury East Lancashire Railway.

The 40s and Deltic are booked to take part in the ELR's '40s at 60' event on the 13th-15th April 2018;

The 47, I'm not sure about.

Last two of mine from the London area:

attachicon.gif(262bS) 55021 'FS' Copenhagen Bank 01-08-75 (T Ermel).jpg

55021 with the 'Flying Scotsman' climbing between Gasworks and Copenhagen Tunnels, soon after leaving Kings Cross on 1st August 1975

attachicon.gif(263bS) 55017 Wood Green 01-08-75 (T Ermel) .jpg

Five miles out and 55017 is getting into its stride at Wood green later that same day, passing the rather nice wooden signal box which looks a bit out of place under the wires.

Next ones will be more 'out in the sticks'

Trevor

Could anyone tell me the origin of the signal box in the shot of 55017, please -  is it LNER or does it go back to GNR days? And when was it closed/demolished? I've tried searching online but no luck - hopefully a signal box enthusiast might be reading this.

Thanks in anticipation

Trevor

JUST TO UPDATE

I've since posted this again (on 9th May 2018) on the 'UK Prototype Questions' section, which seems a more appropriate place for it.

Berwick-upon-Tweed, the most northerly station in England, was as far as my 'Northumbrian Ranger' ticket (£6.80 for 7 days) would take me:

attachicon.gif(574cS) 55020 Royal Border Bridge Berwick 7-8-75 (T Ermel) .jpg

55020 crosses the River Tweed on the Royal Border Bridge with a northbound train on 7th August 1975

attachicon.gif(265b) 55001 Berwick 4aug75 (T Ermel) .jpg

55001 arrives at Berwick, with the rear coaches still on the bridge in the background, with another northbound train on 4th August 1975

Sorry, no 'Deltic' pictures over the border!    See new post on 7th May 2018

Cheers

Trevor

I've just located a Scottish view I had forgotten about!

55015 Tulyar heads north near Drem on 6th August 1977.

Taken during a week with a Scottish Region Rover Ticket - I had just 'done' the North Berwick branch by DMU and had alighted at Drem to await a connection to Edinburgh, then back home to Newcastle behind 47433.

Great picture although I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this same image in Modern Railway Magazine
