wollastonblue
Sorry, but seriously, Pat Mycock?! That's a just a leap too far to be believable. Seriousl It was back in my PPE Sales days, I'd not long started, and I though it was one of those wind ups for newbies, but it is genuinely true. I've had customers with all sorts of names during my sales career.

Catkins
. . . There is a removals firm in Old (Northants) called Knights . . . Knights, of Old don't do removals - they are a haulage, storage and distribution firm - but they do paint a Knight on the side of the trailers and cabs. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii240/F89fan/splash.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.trucknetuk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p%3D461861&h=423&w=633&tbnid=ZcAZjxCZOJtVTM:&zoom=1&docid=5K50wH81DAXiXM&hl=en&ei=AFZhU8L3FdiwyASNm4LoBA&tbm=isch&ved=0CEsQMygTMBM http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://knightsofold.cmsadmin.eu/Pages/ImageManager/Knights%252520of%252520Old%252520April%2525202010%252520wv.JPG&imgrefurl=http://www.knightsofold.ltd.uk/News&h=1052&w=3000&tbnid=-ojkrJal0zVatM:&zoom=1&docid=eU8d0dJU_tlJEM&hl=en&ei=AFZhU8L3FdiwyASNm4LoBA&tbm=isch&ved=0CDoQMygCMAI Going back to business names, there is a "Fatman" based in Grantham - he trades in used and fresh cooking oils! stewartingram
"Curl Up & Dye", hairdressers, Chatteris (Cambs) "Rumbles Fish Bar", Chatteris (& absolutely excellent, large portions, better than the award winning shop close by, and they have a chain of shops in the region). "the Sh*t Shifters", sewage tanker lorry, Bedford. (exactly as typed, in HUGE letters on the tank side). "Cut and Clipper", hairdresser, appropriately located in The Cut, a street between Southwark & Waterloo stations. "Bounce", apparently the home of Ping Pong (with a blue plaque above the door!), High Holborn (the old Gamages site I believe). and - the old ones are the best - "Costa", the coffee shop chain, appropriate for the prices they charge! I've also seen the "Rumble Tum" cafe, but can't remember where. And in Blackpool, "The Flying Handbag" pub which was recently demolished, a well known gay pub opposite North station.
