Some Irish railways model formations

Recommended Posts

Some of you may well have seen this item already, I had missed it until recently .Despite writing it in the first place!  The photos were all taken on my home layout which also features on this group forum, and my thanks to Kirley and Ian Sinclair for the loan of  CIE/IR goods and "modern" NIR stock, as most of mine is a bit out of period for these locos.

Just a small point on the comment by Colm on Bell Line and it's use of the IE system. The company actually went bankrupt and out of business in the mid 90's, it never transferred to road transport. Unfortunatly the directors made the decision to tie the company's future to the Channell Tunnel with disastrous consequences. Even today 20 years after opening the amount of freight going through the Tunnel by freight train is derisory.
