Did any corridor stock run over this line (if only on the occasional excursion)? Pre the Derby lightweights, regular trains were loco hauled. From photos they appear to be Stanier period 3 and maybe some Period 1 corridor coaches, with various 2-6-4 tanks in charge, 2P's, or even 4F's. I could be wrong, but I don't think the Stanier coaches were specifically narrowed to work the M&C; but I believe the door windows were fitted with bars to prevent passengers leaning out. I clearly remember a school trip in the early sixties, in which we travelled from Whitehaven to Carlisle in Stanier coaches - behind Jubilee 45729, 'Fearless'.
