Two updates in a week, I am going to have to go an lay down in a darkened room.

Nipped round to the layout last night with some bits for the signals to find Cam & Colin adding the walking route to the groundframe and greenifying things:

There will hopefully be a signalling update next week and more platform progress.

Well we've made it to two pages, still a lot more to come but we're getting somewhere.

Civils have just about finished the platforms, they may get a white edge at some point and the brick work needs touching in.

IMG_1965.jpg.8dbdbc2d2529fb865c8caa2623f0e0c8.jpg

Greenery is still progressing the the old railway bridge getting more & more overgrown. Now needs some detritus, a washing machine, mattress and some pallets or the like.

IMG_1967.jpg.a8fe6eab00893d323a23cc22d646b017.jpg

And lastly for tonight the exchange sidings full of trucks.

Cheers for now.

Thank you. It was originally intended to be a road but we felt it was too wide and we had a couple of off cuts of scrap track which looked quite good. Just need a load of rubbish on it now to finish it off.

Cheers John, was originally intended to be a road, but we decided that the bridge was far too wide unless we wanted a Dual Carriage way going over the line, which wouldnt be in-keeping with the rest of the layout.

Thanks to Al for keeping this updated. Its getting there slowly. Years of it being sat not being worked on are now paying off.

Design Im working on has a similar plan as the Edge Hill area had a circuit line around the area which fell into disuse in the 80s and subsequently demolished, even had overhead wires on it. Good to see progress Cameron on yours, I just have to rebuild my garage first before my next layout and I have sold most of my N gauge stuff now.

Wednesday night update time! We've been trying to work out how to fill some of the back of the layout against the back scene, its not really deep enough for house front or backs so I though maybe we could go with street ends. So at the weekend I've knocked up five terrace house ends which we offered up tot he back scene tonight, with a bit of tweaking to get a reasonable width road bases have been fitted. Just need to paint the roofs and add coping stones to the tops of the walls. We'll sort the road ways, paths and walls in the coming weeks.

Cam has also been working away weathering the track and Bridge:

And just because I can a shot of the 08 stabled on the short road and a dirty rat in the exchange sidings.

We're finally making some real progress and the end is starting to be in sight.

You cant beat a Dirty Rat, but why stop at one? haha.

We do have two (possibly 3, depending what number it gets) rats available and will have at least two McRats, one is done the other waiting NRN pods and air tanks.

No weekly update as such this week as I’m away but Cam sent me this picture the other day which I feel is worth sharing.

Again, no real progress this week as we've been prepping a few bits for Telford. However we did stage a couple of pictures here's a dirty McRat and a pair of dirty Rats for your perusal:

The top photo is so reminiscent of the view you’d get as a kid trainspotting from an adjacent platform, I find myself adding idling diesel throb!

Thank you, exactly what I was thinking!

Now, for the Wednesday night update!

The station buildings came back last week from Cam's mate and they look pretty damn good. I managed to get the so far but got stuck! I think they may end up with a canopy and possibly a peaked roof on the main building but this is how they will appear at Rawtenstall in November.

In other progress we have dropped most of the layout with work progressing on the wiring, the last point motor and all bar one frog juicers have been fitted. Colin has also made progress with the signals, these will hopefully be fitted in the next couple of weeks while the layout is in bits.

Lastly we seem to have a couple of visiting trucks in for a bit of dirt before heading back to Gobowen.

Again, not a lot to report this week. Colin has a couple of board for electrical work and I have a board for some scenic bits. Cam is working on finishing of some Stock for November. We'll hopefully have more of an update next week. For now here is the progress with the terrace streets, wall to finish and some ballasting to back fill in places and this board should be done.

Well, two updates this week. I had a little package from Rob at Northumbrian Painting Supplies today which has been thrown together, still a way to go but we will have a Supermarket backing onto Russel Street in a week or two's time.

TWO Updates in one week Al, you'll need to lie down, or take a COLD shower, haha.

I like the Supermarket idea, have you a name for it yet?

Russburys or Morrisells maybe?

I had the lie down overnight, shower this morning (not cold) but in between hovering the house and mowing the lawn I seem to have managed a little more modelling mojo! As to a name, the master plan is that it will be Safeways, its based on the Safeways (now Morrisons at Fort William.

Cladding done on the main walls and one side of the buttresses, hopefully doe the other side tomorrow then its the brick detail and roofs.

Any one for 5 items for 99p breakfast?

Minor update again tonight. We’ve had four boards back up together and the supermarket popped in place to see how it’ll look. Still some

work to do on it but most

of the wall cladding is done and the roof is on, tiles next then filler and paint. Some

bits added around the houses and platform tops painted black again (before I managed to splatter blue paint all over them!).

Looking really good Al, but I noticed in the second to last pic the point motor pin sticking up through. They can cause MASSIVE PAIN when you run your arm along the top of them, and draw a line of BLOOD,:fie:  I always put a large blob of Blu Tac on the top of mine prior to cutting, it just helps to see them, and avoid getting near them.

That's one for the S & T dept! I did catch myself on one when I took one of the boards out of the car, it'll soon get sorted with a pair of snips!

Not had an update for a couple of weeks but we've still be busy beavering away getting ready for the MIOG exhibition in November. We're just about there, a few things to finish but it is basically presentable so tonight we've had a bit of a play testing the electrics, it all went well so fingers crossed we're pretty much good to go. So here's a few from tonight's running session, not my best work as the lights not great now:

Low relief Supermarket is just about ready for Russel Street, just needs some paint touching up, the doors doing and naming. The letters for the name board arrived yesterday however one letter was wrong, oh well it'll get sorted next week.
