RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted October 7, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 7, 2019 So a decent update on some of the projects I have on-going. I have this week off so should achieve a lot, fingers crossed. first up 57305 and the first barrier coach are complete (50% of the train I’m modelling), all detailing done and weathered. Loads of details added and scratch built on the coach. The second coach and loco are coming on nicely! 15
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted October 7, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 7, 2019 Some other locos have been back to the workbench for their final detailing and weathering. I tend to find that most the first ones I did I’m not happy with and they require more work which happens on the second off layout visit. Trying to nail all the new locos first time from now on. 56087 has had some coupling attention and further weathering enhancements. 66745 has had lots of detailing doing such as removal of Europorte circles and writing, detailing of lights and end painted over as per prototype. Also cab detailing, further weathering and painting of wheels and pickups! Being done on all locos now.
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted October 7, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 7, 2019 Colas 66846 has also had the extra details doing similar to GBRF 66745. Now looking well used as per the real loco. Also bought myself a WCRC 37248 in a mad rush only to realise after purchased that it’s a 37/0 and won’t renumber/nose change for any other WCRC 37, doh. eBay beckons for this one now it’s weathered.
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted October 7, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 7, 2019 (edited) Finally for today (will definitely update tomorrow again) we have 67004 in DB livery, a complete repaint from a Caledonian sleeper 67004. Fitted with Legomanbiffo sounds and detailed with driver added and loads of other bits and bobs done, obviously weathered. This will be kept busy on the MOD trains on Badgers Cross. Also I have weathered my first 2 Revolution JNA wagons. Stunning model and when weathered they looks amazing. Just need to do the other 13 now. More will be done this week. RMweb Premium DRS Crewe On A Mission Posted October 7, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 7, 2019 Lovely updates Andy. I have missed following your work. I particularly like the barrier coach, 57305 & 66745. Very nice attention to detail on all of the above but these three models especially. The JNA-Ts look very nice. I'm liking the subtle weathering on these too. 2
Jack374
Top stuff Andy, great work. The weathering is superb with the barrier coach patch painting and details like silver lights on the shed. Now all you need is a RTR shiny new unit to put between the coaches! Jack. 1
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted October 8, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 8, 2019 Thanks Jack. I do indeed but think I will be waiting until the Accurascale Transpennine Express MK5’s get delivered. For now they will be a lightly loaded pair of locos. RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted October 29, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 29, 2019 A few more updated locos and wagons. GBRF 50049 has been back to the work bench for a few tweaks. It’s fitted with Hornby TTS sound with a roads and rails large square speaker and sounds great for a total of £46, bargain. Also Colas 37254 has been back for the start of its hand weathering. The airbrush aspects will be done at the weekend. I have also done the hand weathering of another 10 Revolution box wagons, leaving only 3 to do. Again these 10 will get the airbrush treatment at the weekend. I have also purchased a full set of loads for these. Going to look great when complete. This weekend I will also complete my other barrier coach, ROG 47813 and Colas 37521. Also started the next couple of locos. 15

Ray M
Just come across this thread, and i must say your work is very good. BUT your model of 37248 is very nice, but the front nose light should be a lot lower and should have a headboard iron above the old route indicater box. RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted November 12, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 12, 2019 It’s the standard release Bachmann product Ray! I bought it in error and merely weathered it and sold it on. Not mine anymore. Maybe you could email Bachmann and point out the error of their ways. 1
NickL2008
Sadly a bit late now, an email would fall on deaf ears as this model was released a while ago, Bachmann can't cater to every detail variation as nice as that would be NL

RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted January 11, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 11, 2020 Of late I have been very busy but mainly with buying stuff and lots of weathering. Below is some of the stuff I have been working on. I have completed a rake of 7 TTA aviation fuel tanks to replicate the Prestwick flow. All individually numbered and detailed. The end wagon has been detailed with tail lamp etc. That’s are also weathered and really look the part. Also completed the weathering 4 of my MXA wagons, 2 graffitied Freightliner HIA’s, the first 3 of 18 Accurascale PCA’s, various coaches and an RBA wagon. Locos now complete include a Heljan 33, Colas 37521 and DB 60044. Lots of work goes into the hand and airbrush weathering of the above including lots of individual detailing of each item. The DB 60 has TTS sound, wire loop couplings with detailed buffer beams, painted interior details behind grills, bespoke transfers and very bespoke weathering. Hope you enjoy the update. All work including graffiti is by my own fair hand. 9 8
sb67
Some fine weathering there Andy, not overdone and very subtle. Edited January 11, 2020 by sb67 1 1
RMweb Premium DRS Crewe On A Mission Posted January 11, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 11, 2020 Excellent work as always Andy. I particularly like the graffitied Freightliner HIAs and the weathered Colas Rail 37521. I am hoping to buy the Bachmann Colas Rail 37521 when it is reduced to less than £145. It's too much to pay now for the old Bachmann tooling when Accurascale have launched some of their first batch of newly tooled Class 37s.

I wasn’t going to pay the Bachmann price for 37521 so got a cheap (£80) 37421 off eBay, changed the noses and removed the roof mounted horns. Sold the old noses for more than I paid for the flush /5 noses. I love a bit of modelling. 1
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted January 11, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 11, 2020 I said 7 TTA tanks but was supposed to put 9. Also fitted a DCC flashing tail light to the rear PCA tank.
