2mm Andy has started a thread on this in the 2mm section but I thought it worth starting one here as it gets a lot more traffic. Members and non-members are all welcome. Whether you are tempted by 2FS or simply enjoy good modelling in an informal, friendly atmosphere this promises to be a great day out - with the added bonus of the wonderful SVR just outside.

Saturday 21st June 2014 (Opening times 10:30am to 4pm)

Location;
Kidderminster Railway Museum
Station Approach
Comberton Hill
Kidderminster
Worcestershire
DY10 1QX

The venue is adjacent to the Severn Valley Railway station and 5 minutes from the main line station. There is plentiful parking in the SVR car park (pay and display - approx. £3/day) which is a short walk from the museum.

Admission is £5.

Layouts attending are;
St. Ruth - Midlands Area Group
Annedale Town - Brian Hume
Tiviot Dale - John Whitehead
Kent and Essex Group Layout

Modelling demonstrations;
Laurie Adams - Templot
Jerry Clifford - Bath Queens Square
Mike Raithby - painting backscenes
Mick Simpson - Easitrac

David Long - DCC in 2mm (with Mayfield St. layout)

Specialist traders;
Worsley Works
N Brass Loco
County Rolling Stock
2mm Central Shop
Edward Sissling - Proxxon tools and baseboard frame system

"12 Volts DC" - tool/electrics supplier

Refreshments are available in the museum tea rooms, at the SVR station (which does a superb cooked breakfast!) and in Kidderminster itself.

The event is being held on the first floor of the museum which can only be accessed via stairs (no lift) so the event is not easily accessible for anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs.

As well as the Supermeet and the railway museum, the Severn Valley Railway is running regular trains to Bridgnorth. Details are here.

Hope to see some of you there.

Jerry

  • 2 weeks later...

With just a week to go, perhaps this needs a bump...

I'm looking forward to operating with St Ruth again, travelling back from Canada early for this. Hoping to get a trip on the SVR as well, but I suspect I'll be held up for most of the day.

Best Regards

Chris

Well, A big thanks to all involved in the meet - great fun and inspirationsl layouts, Mayfield at less that 24" through St Ruth at 12 foot to work in pogress -first board of a 5m bemoth. Association shop was busy and I now have some drop in wheels for dmus and wagons- small layout to surface from the grey fog!

The 12" to foot exhibit (SVR) was really good with 50026 basking in the sun, along with lovely steam engines and shiny coaching stock.

A good day had and lots learnt

Robert

I thoroughly enjoyed the event, many thanks to those who organised it. Particular thanks to Laurie Adams who inadvertently got me sitting next to Martin Wynne who kindly explained the functionality of Templot to me, and to the gentlemen who assisted me in the selection of various components in the 2mm Association shop.
