First MDS one appears cheap because it's broken! Look at the pantographs!

looks ok apart from that though, the windows are a bit strange due to the moulding double effect though.

Good ones selling around £130-142

Using the 2004-1 Microtrains couplings it's easy to fit magnetic couplers to the new Ge4/4II

Unclip the skirt and remove the coupler and spring, then modify the corners of the Microtrains coupler as below and clip it all back together.

The EW1 coaches are also simple if you use the 1017-10 couplers, black version as there are silver and ones with trucks so check carefully it's just couplers.

Unclip the body and click out the bogie

Snip off the Kato coupling mount

Leaving this

Drill a hole from underneath for the Microtrains screw so it bites into the plastic

Hold the Microtrains coupler on top and screw them together

And clip the bogie back in.

I've taken the plunge and purchased the 2 sets of EW coaches and loco 631 , a nice new upcoming range but big price difference between Europe and Japan more than double on the coach sets! Be interesting what we have next hopefully some freight or an older rail car.

I purchased solely as I love Bemo but simply couldn't afford the stock I'd like as with this I've only got to outlay the same money as for one Bemo loco and 2 coaches and I've got the whole range on offer, glacier set, Emu and now 4/4 and EWs so just hope it prospers in time

A new interesting product in RhB 1:150...

An italian small manufacturer, N-Kit, is going to produce a limited number of the RhB Sb-v container wagen (including the refrigerator container).

The model is in metal, with photoetched parts and fusions. I have touched a draft in Nuremberg last february, it is really well made; the pictures display a model not finished yet.

To ask for details / reservations:  serluke#teletu.it

It will be officially presented in Novegro ("Hobby Model Expo", Milano-Novegro) at the fair at the end of september.

I will keep you informed with fresh picts.

Cost: about 110 euro (container included)...

The MDS wagons are out and I got three ;)

They are lovely models but sit about 1mm too high on the bogies, it’s only obvious next to the EW1 coaches but I’m going to have a look to see if I can lower them.

Still they look superb and go round 150mm radius too!

I'm really enjoying Paul's thread of his mini RhB layout.  Hoping to start my effort after Xmas once I've refined my plans and got some boards organised.

In the meantime I don't know if you guys have seen this but there's a layout in Japan on three levels that includes the Buriso spiral and the Landwasser viaduct:

I wonder what Kato will tempt us with next?  ;)

It says "available for Christmas 2018" on this announcement, but I was unable to find any source - not even PIRATA has it i their own web shop.

Is that another practical joke PIRATA is pulling - just like their announcement of the ABe 4/4 III?
