Hi Mike,

I seem to have spent my entire life being completely wasted, not by my own accord, but by those that mostly stood to benefit from my efforts both enteric and material.

Non of it makes any real sense and now we have Covid-19 to utterly ruin everything, my only comfort now being that everyone in the whole world gets to share my melancholy this time around !

I feel that I gave that quite an introduction, anyway I'm staying wasted or not !!!

Gibbo.

I'm sure it isn't true that you've spent your entire life being wasted. You've obviously thought a lot about deep stuff - and made some great models on the way!

The world isn't a particularly kind place I'm afraid.  There are a lot of kind and decent people in it, but by and large they aren't the ones running the show - to get to be in charge you seem have to be something of a g-t, and a thuggish g-t at that. The best we can hope for is that the kind and decent people do their best for each other and provide some comfort. Plus that natural justice does at times prevail and those so deserving get their come uppance.

However, it looks to me as if we may just be on the verge of a paradigm shift, that throws the neo-liberal cobblers of everyone for themselves that we've endured for the last forty years out of the window.

Let's hope so anyway.

John.

I thought this was a station, but it seems I have gone down a rabbit hole and found Alice.

You're in the wrong place then, this is Clive's thread and it goes where it likes.

Remember the fun part of the title?

For the chap that came looking for trains, here's a recent train.  I've given up trying to make my trains follow any logical realistic paradigm.  I just like trains.

You admit to having something to do with that?

What is it?

Well, I'm sure the Doc will tell us the full why and the wherefore but briefly it's a NSWGR class 422:

Probably the Auscision model.

Not sure about the coaches as they're a bit out of focus.

Ah that is better, some sense of normality has returned.

Hold on ......

Normality and Clive Mortimore even trying to write it, they are words that don't seem to go well together.

I have a hit a period of modeller's block so it might be some time before a regular service returns.

Hi,

Is it an age thing, or does Patti Smith just sound better the older the listener gets?  Or is it that the older one gets, the more she relates to life whether it's her own compositions or covers of others' work?

(Philosophy/Aesthetics 101?)

Regards,

Alex.

“ best moment of your life” You have a wife and two children who might be upset by that statement.

The Stanier big tank is the station pilot but with the introduction of DMUs it sees very little work.

A Riddles big tank is seen snaking its way across the station throat before heading for Huddersfield.

Now a sequence of shots as a BRCW 3 car unit on a stopper from Manchester arrives at the same time as the Hull to Liverpool express.
