I must admit that most RTR models don't get me that excited. Much prefer chopping and cutting stuff up. But the accurascle 37 has me thinking how to convince the family for Xmas. But the GC A5. That will be added to the collection. I admit this as a moment of weakness to ask forgiveness of all the fellow modellers/bodges on here.

Good news, I have actually done some modelling today.

Bad news, I don't know why, as they are totally out of area or era for me.

I blame Clive.

What have I done? Just decided to build both of the early lightweight single car DMUs.  Got the single car DC kit off eBay, and built the other from a DC kits lightweight 2 car. Might be photos later, but they are drying under some heavy book now.

Hi Dave,

I've built* one of those so don't just blame Clive or I'll feel left out !!!

*I say built, it is in the "Nearly Started" category along with loads of other stuff.

Gibbo.

I only blame Clive because it is easier than admitting my addiction to chopping things up.

Oh Dave,

If you are going to just blame Clive then it only counts if you don't paint them, obviously !!!

Gibbo.

Here are my two bubbles, after quick rub and primed. With the centre car in the middle.

Question? Remember rule1, do I do them in blue as for the other models I have or green?

Both were withdrawn in green. But they are your models your choice.

Interesting, I was just stopping by the thread to ask if you were familiar with this one:

Yeah, I seem to watch the video most days. I found a live version done by a fan recently, not the best recording but they can deliver Chaise Longue live.

Why not almost the best of both worlds? One green, the other blue and red as Test Car Iris?

As possible inspiration, here's my green one slowly getting there!

Last night after a few crossed wires and points wired up to work with the wrong points I finally got my trap points working. Pictures to follow shortly.

One of the disadvantages of living in the middle of nowhere is power cuts when the weather turns nasty. We have just had a 12 hour one, 12 hours no coffee, 12 hours no computer.

We have a whistle kettle and gas bbq for just such eventualities. Never be without a method of making tea!

Have you interlocked the trap points to the other turnouts? ;)

Yes, they operate with the respective loco yard entry point.

The diesel stabling point trap.

To answer Mapp Goldfish's question.

Set to allow a loco to enter or exit the stabling point.

Click of the point motors and the mainline is set for a train to run past the stabling point and the trap is there to stop any runaways going any where.

See I caught one escaping.

Nice work good sir!...... would I be in trouble for asking how the interlocking works over that single slip if using the crossing line rather than the curved line but the route to the steam shed is also set? ;)

Nearly fell for that and answered.  The words had already formed in my mind.  Fortunately they never got as far as the keypad.

Looking good young Clive, but still NOT BALLASTED? :fie:

It was about two years ago that we visited, so I thought it would be Ballasted and have Green Hills everywhere by now.

How about the Station entrance, can I still buy Sarnies?:D
