Top one is from cutting page the others from design page, then a phone post of the cutter.

Then trying to work out what else to cut, next thing will be cabs of course.

103 is possible, just trying to think of Western Region DMUs.

So car have

101 x 2

116 x 2

117 x 2

118 x 1

119 x 1

120 x 1 U/C

128 x 1

WR IC x 2 U/C

Anyone want the designs for themselves?

This, from Gibbo's list above,  deserves highlighting

Gloucester Cl 100 unit

It would be a solution to the problem of providing a spray coach for the Invicta Fisons weedkiller coaches. Having said that , no-one is letting on what the proper colour match for Fisons green actually is...

Indeed the vendor has a market niche to redraw the CAD incorporating the modifications made to the vehicle as a spray coach, and offer that as a 3D print. There will be at least 500, possibly 1000, of the Invicta sets out there - he only needs 10% of them to bit to have a best-seller in 3D printing terms

(I'm not sure about the practicalities of cutting into 3D prints with a saw, which is why I'm suggesting the CAD be tweaked accordingly. And no doubt someone will tell me it was the other car in the unit - but I suppose he's done both)

A little pricy , yes, but only a little more than the Invicta coaches , on a per coach basis.

Since The Johnster now has his Bachmann 94xx , RMWeb needs someone to bang on obsessively about the availability of something. I am happy to volunteer on behalf of Gloucester DMU cars... As a public service, you understand

Hi Mike,

There was a train that ran between Blackpool and Leeds which stopped at every station. It took the station announcer an age to list all the stops and taken for ever to get to leeds.

Gibbo.

You still get that at Cardiff Central when then announce a Milford Haven or Pembroke Dock train; it takes even longer because they do announcements in Welsh then repeat them in English. For some of the Valley Lines trains, I reckon the train could be waiting in Queen Street by the time the announcements have finished.

My Dad and I once trekked out to Skegness by DMU; after half an hour we were about to go back on the Nottingham service which was, I think an 8-car rake of high-density units. A woman dragging her family along the platform turned and yelled to someone, "It's all b****y non-smoker!".  If she thought being unable to have a fag for a couple of hours was bad enough, wait until she realised her and her young kids had no access to a toilet.....

Hi Martin,

Pleased to see you using of one of the most useful modellers tools to come on the market, without going onto another dedicated thread may I ask did you start out with the Cameo ?

I bought the Portrait many years ago and it's still serving me well but I have recently thought about the Cameo as a possible ? upgrade.

Any thoughts ?

Crikey, I'd want paying to make that journey in a bug unit!

Mike.

Hi Mike,

I had a little think about what you have written, and discussed it with the head of passenger services and his reply was "You could always walk". :rtfm:

Hi Ray

Now look what you made me do.

I withdrew a multi-coloured converted Tri-ang BG to cobble this together.

Customer care at it's finest!

Mike.

You could always travel in this with the parcels.

The other side of the Cravens parcels car.

I cocked up the front end big time, I took the dimensions of the windscreens from the Golding book, it looked like Swindon Cross Country DMU. Rebuilt them today taking the dimensions off a Bachmann model.

Hi Dave,

Do we get to call him on 01 811 8055 ?

Clive: "Hello line one, what's your name and what have got to swap ?"

Caller: "Hi Clive, its Gibbo. I've got a Triang Mk1 Composite in plain red."

Clive: "PLAIN RED !!!! All you'll get for that is a barrow full of HOSSHIT ! "

Caller: "Typical Lincolnshire, more sense from Yorkshire and that's saying something."

Gibbo.

I didn't do any more modelling tonight. Instead I watched a concert by Otava Yo (Russian folk band). Yulia is back playing with them, she has been on maternity leave and it is nice to see her play alongside Lina who substituted for her.

Not sure if they are everyone's taste so instead I will say good night with this song, Corine Tucker at her best,

So it says on the build instructions.

This one will be more red & blue than green as it is to become Laboratory Coach No. 9 - Hydra. Does that qualify for membership of the multi-coloured Chop Shop (as one of the two bogies was changed)?

Hi Ray

The rules for membership are

1, You must like watching toy trains running.

2, You must like making models.

3, You must like researching stuff about trains.

4, You must like seeing what others make.

5, You must accept that others have their own taste in music but will never be as good as your own.

6, there is no rule six.

7, You must have fun with your toy trains.

Like all sets of rules there is at least one amendment.

1st amendment, 10p in the swear box if you mention a certain railway, which cannot be mentioned in this amendment as it would cost me 10p .

I think I am exempt from the amendment as I have always lived in areas serviced by products of Swindon.

And I am cross knitting to produce carriages.

There's also the 2nd amendment as displayed by Clive previously: mention of bandit country to the *est is permitted in the following form - G*R and presumably also BR*R.

And then the 3rd amendment: products of Swindon (or ordered by Paddington) are acceptable provided they don't use steam for traction purposes (train heating is OK).

I for one am very grateful for these latter amendments, even though I fail on rule 2.

Paul.
