RMweb Premium New Haven Neil Posted July 14, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 14, 2014 Looks like 'my' chimney is still there at the left hand end! Gppd to see the layout again, please keep posting!
long island jack
The chimneys still smoking away, there's going to be all sorts of changes to the track plan(to allow for more movement of trains),hopefully before it's next outing at Workington,Jon's also widening the boards by 4-5" to add more scenery!! Allegheny1600
One of the all time greatest layouts IMHO, Brilliant ambassadors for the hobby too! Cheers, John E.
long island jack
Total agree about being a brilliant ambassador for the hobby (and a good bloke too) it's a shame more of the punter that just walked by didn't stop to take in the detail, those who did (and there were a few) couldn't beleave the detail thats been done. long island jack
Didn't hear "just another american layout" but did get asked, where the layout was based,"because they look like American steam engines"!!! Ray

long island jack
my switch engine for the Sunday afternoon session was a Bachmann 2-6-0 first time i've seen one, though a generic design (maybe western roads) it sounded and ran well,it went a bit quiet late afternoon, which gave me time for all the photo's Ray

w124bob
It just looks so right when set in this era! There's another photo in black and white on the web some where of the green and white Packard(?) coming past Nelson's , you can almost see the "Mob" laying in wait, "you dirty rat"! w124bob
I'd like to know about the camera and any editing ?
long island jack
Camera nothing special,Nikon coolpix s3200 set at ISO400,white balance-fluorescent,focus-auto. only editing done was, sharping, colour correction and the odd picture cropped, then resized all done in photoshop There was a few pictures which didn't make it,out of focus,(mainly when stuff was moving),when your a operator and there's no one watching, you can set up the shots, most of the photo's were taken on the Sunday when it was a bit quieter. It's a absolute delight to run Jons layouts,my mate who helps and doesn't model American, loves switching and this time with SC he was through in the deep end with waybills etc,he loved it(when he got the hang of it) can't wait till the next time it's out,Workington in November. Last photo when the show was finished and stock boxed up. Ray
