Popular Post shaunthesheep277
Hi all I'm Shaun. I've been into model railways since 2007. I have had many attempts at a layout, the last one was dismantled because of moving house. Now with most of that sold, thrown or stored for a future project I have this, a micro layout called Entering the yard. A 00 scale, D.C.C. Layout which started life as a simple shelf layout to test new locomotives on and has grew to what you see in these pictures. It is not based on anywhere and is a modern layout. The layout has much to attract the eye but I didn't want it too loud or crowded. many fetures include five vehicles with working lights which are swappable The idea is to show it off at exhibitions one day I have also added my favourite picture of one of my loco's a Hornby class 08 Serco This is the first post I've done besides Hello from me Tell me what you think and don't be shy on anything that could be improved, I like a comment or two makes me a better moddler As it's my first post I have checked for spelling but you never know I may of missed one Edited December 1, 2015 by shaunthesheep277
eastwestdivide
Like it. I presume the kitchen sink is inside the office building, so that's why we cant see it! Despite the masses of little details, it doesn't look contrived.
shaunthesheep277
The funny thing is, it's a good job it's blurred beacuse of what's inside through the window. I didn't what it to be clear really, it's a naughty picture

RMweb Gold Corbs Posted July 21, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 21, 2014 Looks a great little shunting layout, I rather like the 'busy' feeling with plenty of detail.
shaunthesheep277
Great layout you have there. Who makes the building if you don't mind me asking. E I think it's a Bachmann Scencecraft building, given a little dulling down, roof re-done looks well used
sdw7300
Really impressive stuff. Will be following this. How have you lit the vehicles? Small LED's or fibre optics? As Rivercider said, the rubbish piles are very convincing. Looking forward to more!

I'm no electrician but I bought a car online, took it apart as you do to see how it works and I've copied that wiring for ever vehicle I do I've just found some picture's i took of a transit van I'd tested on to see if the idea would work Edited July 22, 2014 by shaunthesheep277

RMweb Gold jamest Posted July 22, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 22, 2014 Hi, Very nice - how big is it roughly? I echo all the positive comments above - and you have finished it off well with the 'picture frame' too. I think that is the advantage of small layouts like this - its basically a three dimensional picture. Thanks for sharing it. Regards, James

Marcus 37
What a fantastic little layout. The lighting effects are superb and as everyone else as said the rubbish in the undergrowth looks really convincing. Can't wait to see some more......... Cheers Marcus. Regards, James I never really measured it till now 3ft by 15 inches, however it is an odd shape because the layout started life as a simple book shelf and I've added bits on since then The right hand side despite the nameboard making it look even is exactly 1ft with 20cm sticking out the back for a transverse fiddle yard (when I get round to it) Up to now I've been using a cassette style
shaunthesheep277
Very nice. Very atmospheric. May I ask where the yard lights came from please? There Viessmann floodlights and a bit of brass tubing, at least I think it's brass
Tase
Ah cool. I've got some of those already in my bits box but never thought of putting on a brass pole! Thanks again mate! Edited July 23, 2014 by Tase
