PGC
I've been looking through the Paul Bartlett site and came across this photograph (I do hope I'm not breaking the rules by posting this link). As a modeller of the GER in BR days, I'm fascinated that this appeared at Bishop's Stortford in 1958 and would like to get a model of it, if one's available. Can anyone tell me if there are any kits for this horsebox? Thanks in advance Phil
brossard
I don't think these are precisely the same diagram as in the link: http://www.mousa.biz/fourmm/coach/npcs/lms4.html The D1878 looks darned close to my eye, possibly an LMS build of a MR design. I've done a couple of Bill's kits and have more to do. I think they are excellent. John
Paul Cram
I have a London Road models one that is Diagram 401 built between 1905-14 and 1921-22.
PGC
Thanks to both for the answers, especially Paul - I've looked at the London Road website and they do indeed produce a Dia 401, so guess what my next purchase will be! Phil
PGC
I've now received the kit and will be building it shortly. One question I have, though, is what colour the horse box would have been in BR days, as per the picture in post 1? Thanks in advance for any help. jwealleans
Crimson if repainted, maroon if not, I think.
PGC
Crimson if repainted, maroon if not, I think. Thanks, Jonathan - when you say "if repainted", do you mean from LMS livery or something else? Phil
jwealleans
From LMS.
PGC
Thanks Jonathan; I was concerned that the vehicle may have been some strange shade of brown or other colour, so crimson or maroon are easy colours to cope with! Phil
