RMweb Gold Anotheran Posted March 19, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 19, 2015 To make up for it I thought I should post a couple of pictures of the 26 now that it can move under it's own steam... It's nice to see a blue box has been converted to run using a decent type of power
themagicspanner
Excuse me, has anybody seen my modelling mojo? It may have been missing for quite some time. I'd like it if someone could find it for me. Thanks in advance, Mike

themagicspanner
Spent the afternoon scribing stonework for the loading bay wall and muddying up the track in that area. Mike
RMweb Gold PjKing1 Posted May 10, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 10, 2015 Glad your back I was starting to get worried!! Wonderful photos mate, hope the mojo has fully returned as I'm looking forward to more Cheers, Paul
themagicspanner
Thanks Paul. Glad to be back doing something. Decided to start on this section of the layout as I'm dreading going back to the granary windows... The light's good tonight so I might go and take some more photos. 87023Velocity
Scribing stonework - I love it...Hi Mike, This shot is superb, full of atmosphere and detail. Cheers Simon
themagicspanner
Glad you like it Simon. It's one of my favourites. It's a shame it wasn't completely sharp, although that does help with the early 90s crappy camera effect. Need to paint the barrel of that cable drum... themagicspanner
Four more for tonight: I need to go away and have a think about what I'm going for a back scene and how to disguise the end of the smaller shed. Mike
Zomboid
Inspiring. You've got that urban decay thing right down. The unmaintained-looking track is particularly impressive.
RMweb Gold PjKing1 Posted May 10, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 10, 2015 More excellent photos Mike, like a dull misty Thursday morning (duno why Thursday but they always seem dull an miserable! ) Cheers, Paul
themagicspanner
Thanks guys. I really think I'm starting to capture the atmosphere I imagined when I first started out. I think you're right about it being a Thursday morning Paul. Mike

themagicspanner
Manages to roll out some DAS to make the copes for the loading bay wall. Now it just has to dry. To pass the time here are a bunch of photos from the other night... Mike Edited May 16, 2015 by themagicspanner

Allegheny1600
Hi Mike, This is wonderful, you've pricked my conscience that I should get my 4mm work underway again, thank you! Cheers, John E.
themagicspanner
Thanks John, Always nice to know that my wee project might be inspiring people. Mike
themagicspanner
After a couple of days pottering on the layout I've really started to make progress again: The loading bay wall is practically complete, The area of grass at the front left corner has been done, The cobbles gave been stuck down and grass 'planted' along the front edge between them and the track. Here are a few couple of shots of the loading bay walls - the usual rules apply: DAS clay all round! The light wasn't great tonight, but here are some shots of the 08 and a Tiphook hooded wagon.

themagicspanner
Cheers guys. Glad you like them. Simon, it's a private yard (in my mind anyway) and poorly kept. Anyway, it's not unusual to see rail lying in the four-foot even on a main line. Mike
