RMweb Gold 96701 Posted September 14, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 14, 2014 Message copied from Comet Models website: September 14th We are sorry to announce that Geoff sadly passed away on September 13th at home with his family, much sooner than had been anticipated. Out of respect for Geoff, we will temporarily suspend trading until after the funeral. We thank you for your patience and all of your kind messages of support. We will post a message when we resume trading. We regret that we will not be able to respond to telephone or e-mail messages during this time. Orders received by the close of business on Friday 12th September 2014 will be fulfilled, but we ask for your patience as this may take longer than usual. Geoff was a true gentleman. I feel honoured to have been counted as one of his friends. My thoughts are with his family.

Tony Wright
I can only add my own condolences to the list of sincere messages of sympathy for his family and friends. A delightful man, great company at the Chinese restaurant in St Albans each January and a true servant of the hobby. How many Comet chassis/coaches/gearboxes and what have you have I made? I've lost count, but what a wonderful range of products for the 4mm builder he acquired, expanded and improved. He will be greatly missed.
Claire RJ
Seeing this news has come as quite a shock to me. Geoff built several locomotives for us, and I met him on several occasions, either at an exhibition or at his home, collecting a finished loco. My condolences to his wife and family.
