60059
Finished the lower level bridge from the fiddle yard to the north section tonight, fitted toggle clips at each end, with dowels to lock in postion, and 1 support leg in the middle. I have also fitted hardboard to the sides to protect anything from falling of the bridge after a derailment etc...next job is cork and track.
60059
A quick question for you all, I am looking for copperclad strip to create the track joints at either end of the bridge section, does anybody have any idea where I could get this too suit code 100 track, ie the depth required. Thanks.

Thanks. Hi Phil I used brass screws - my reasoning being they were more secure and you could get the height exactly right. Just make sure you "rough up" the screw head and bottom of the rail for a really strong solder joint. 60059
Evening folks, A bit more progress today finished the track on the bridge and layed a couple of points on the incline away from the bridge section.....I followed the advice from Sam and used brass screws to secure the track on the bridge and this did work very well, specially being able to adjust the height of the screw heads.. sdw7300
Hi Phil. Looking really good. On the joints on the scenic boards I have filed the edges of the screw heads in line with the track so they can't be seen. Keep up the good work!
pitbull1845
Hi Phil, Layouts looking good, I was thinking how I was going to do the track on my lift up section, so a timely question. Thanks to Sam for the suggestion. Hopefully it wont be too long before I can try the technique on my layout.

Thanks to Sam for the suggestion. Hopefully it wont be too long before I can try the technique on my layout. Having never tried this before I can say it works really well and does hold the rails in place with a strong joint, and the screw heads arent noticeable at all.
