QRModeller
What a beauty! Now I need something to run it on... <image removed> Cheers David Same problem for me! Solved that one by running it in on the Inlander loop of the Workshops Museum layout for a few hours last week! Matt
Andy Y
I've had the good fortune to take a look at these close up - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/96492-wuiske-models-queensland-rail-1550-class-photo-review/- very, very impressed. altone
Bravo to Wuiske Models, those locos look terrific! I know zero about Australian trains, other than riding on a lot of annoying suburbans, didn't even know what a Garratt was until the other day Funny when they were built a stones throw from where I grew up. But I can tell a decent model when I see one, and those locos fit the bill. I run OO brits mainly from the northwest so not much chance of me buying one. Although.. I do have some unused track I have one question, how come these guys can sell a high detailed loco with paint and body options on such a small volume unit at $300 when the big guys have much larger runs and we often pay more for the "you'll get what we give you" loco's of lesser quality? Any chance the Wuiske family might get interested in L&YR or LMS? Sign me up if you do. Cheers Gerry C
QRModeller
Those who wish to chip their 1550's for DCC will probably be pleased to hear that the decoders have now been added to the Wuiske online catalog. The decoders are: - LokPilot Standard - DCC non-sound 4-function decoder with standard 8 pin plug. - LokSound Select - DCC and Sound 4-function decoder includes wired Speaker and Baffle Box and loaded with correct sound to suit the 1550 class. Prices are AUD$40 for the LokPilot Standard and AUD$140 for the LokSound Select. Cheers, Matt.
DavidB-AU
Things just got interesting. Southern Rail Models announced today that they are going to produce a 2400 class. http://www.southernrailmodels.com.au/qr-2400-class-diesel-loco.html That forced Wuiske and Haskell to reveal that they already have one in production. I'm not entirely surprised as the prototype 1550 and 2400 have essentially the same chassis. http://i.imgur.com/HT76v2S.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PiIocuM.jpg EDIT: Kieren Haskell has revealed on Facebook that the project is about 6/7ths complete. Most models are already painted and lettered, and some numbers are still to be pad printed. However there is no release date yet as the entire production run is planned to sent by sea.
