Thanks G.

I'm looking forward to the Minerva wooden Minkies.

Lots of fun to be had there methinks.

Morning all.

This has been posted elsewhere but added here to bring things up to date......

These are the results of  a revisit, made in light of the above woody experiments,  to the Oxford six plank wagon which pops up earlier in the thread.

A few more images. Posted elsewhere but once again added for completeness.

A reworked Hornby Midland waiting room  now assumes the mantle of the ex GER railway Lambton Station building.

As received.

Hi.

Really pretty pictures but it would be far more value if you explain and show your methods and techniques on how you achieve the results.

Missy :)

Hi Missy

I do on my own thread. Check out Sheep Chronicles in Layout Topics. Most recent was a write up on Lambtons station building, start to finish.

This is an Airfix five plank wagon that I have owned for quite a while...

I always thought the Airfix 5 plank was a nice model, looks even nicer suitably weathered I see.

They seemed to do very fine wagons back in the day, let down by an odd class 31 with half a wheel missing and something about the Royal Scot that didn't quite measure up to Palitoy's attempt (in my opinion).

Morning all,

Not much in the way of weathering going on.

However, here is a new image of a Hornby Maunsell rebuilt brake coach which pops up in a few of the earlier photos.

If we didn’t know those brake vans were models you’d think they were photos of the real thing :good:

Oh and the wagons and locos……and…well basically everything else you’ve weathered :)

Thanks again Chris.

You are far too kind.  My approach to weathering is still evolving but I enjoy it and that's all that matters.

Let me embellish,

I was thinking of a small landscape photo book with a general text explaining how you achieve the weathered look. It could be sold at exhibitions and maybe give the proceeds to a charity of choice or for yourself to fund further work. Just a thought.

Will it be like those magic books that you colour in with water... I ruined my original Led Zepplin "In Through The Out Door" inner sleeve which was the same as that by trying to "colour" it in.  I'm much better since I discovered Black Flag though.

Well, it's been a while. Firstly, I couldn't help but notice that the last post on here was made by Grahame Hitchen who passed away all too soon just over twleve months ago, last month. A very skilled modeller and a much missed friend to many.

There's been a bit done weathering wise and the building of a new layout !

Fittingly though, we open the new post with an image of a Pannier and brake van at Sheep Dip. Both loco and b/v were donated by Grahame and both are now much treasured.
