sedalbnayr
Some help would be much appreciated in converting my old A4 to DCC. The problem I am having is finding where the power is being drawn from the track and why I can only see one wire connecting to the motor. The visible wire connects the the front chassis but I cannot see any connection to the track.
smokebox
This is a common question with ringfield motors like yours and a search for ringfield motor brings up many results such as http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/1646-Hornby-ringfield-to-dcc-conversion-help/ Although the one I linked to is slightly different to yours, the principle is the same. Make sure that you isolate the left motor connection from the chassis or the decoder will fail totally as soon as power is applied.
