RMweb Premium melmerby Posted December 7, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 7, 2014 The route of the C&WR railway through Workington Central Station now exists as a road appropriately called "Central Way", however former bridges over the line still exist (now used by road traffic) Oxford Street bridge: http://goo.gl/maps/XaAdc and Brow Top/Ladies Walk: http://goo.gl/maps/LFZOL Whether the Finkle Street Bridge still exists under all the concrete extensions is anybody's guess! http://goo.gl/maps/jP2J9 Although part way in it looks like this, which could be old railway works: http://goo.gl/maps/h4IFr The above two crossings have been amalgamated into a rather dingy tunnel! The Station area and yards are now car parking appropriately named. http://goo.gl/maps/6tmzw Keith

Zomboid
Has anyone mentioned the Musee d'Orsay in Paris? One of the better reuses I can think of. Denver Union Station is quite an impressive retail facility these days. I stayed in the Wolverhampton Low Level premier inn a couple of years back. Not a remarkable hotel, but better than demolishing it.
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted May 17, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 17, 2016 Has anyone mentioned the Musee d'Orsay in Paris? One of the better reuses I can think of. The railway still runs through on the low level and IIRC there is some station memorabilia/photographs in the Musee itself. Keith
