great central
Does anyone know of a supplier of 'sleeves' to reduce a 2mm worm to fit a 1.5mm motor shaft? I'm sure I remember seeing them in the past but didn't need them then. Or have I been hallucinating again? I asked at Branchlines stand at Warley yesterday and he thought he remembered such a thing but doesn't do them now, perhaps under the previous owner? Red Devil
Nigel Lawton may do something suitable.... http://www.nigellawton009.com/PayPalMotors.html
great central
Thanks both, I had thought about the 2mm tube so might give that a go. The Nigel Lawton site does list a sleeve but as it's only 4.5mm long I'm not sure it will be long enough, the worm I have is about 8.5mm long. Grovenor
You could just use two of the Nigel Lawton ones, Exactoscale also did them, do a search through the C&L website. Regards Keith
trustytrev
Hello, I have used the insulation off electrical wire in the past. Some of a suitable diameter cut over length to aid the installation of whatever you are fitting.Once fitted trim the excess plastic insulation. It helps fitting if you warm the plastic sleeve in hot water before fitting to the shaft.A good tight fit of components is possible if material with the right dimensions is used. trustytrev.
